Got my replacement seat in and all indicators are a good re-design. Have no miles on it yet but the install looks good for holding up without pulling from the console. I sat on it several times and it stayed in place surprisingly well.
Since I was replacing the replacement seat - I ordered the new "CVO" style backrest. Again, I wa pleasantly surprised at how well the new backrest integrated with the SESG. I've never had or used a backrest before so I am looking forward to seeing if all my buddies were right in saying I needed one. I was on the fence regarding their sencerity - maybe they just wanted me to feel the continued "pain" of a drained wallet - like I don't already!
Pics are attached ... integration to the SESG I feel is spot on, install was pretty easy. The only issue was getting the alignment right for the slot in the seat - but that is ALWAYS - the "finite" adjustments required.
Anyway ... if you are thinking about getting a backrest for the stock SESG "replacement" seat, you would do well to consider the new "CVO Style" backrest:
