Title: Blocking air coming up in front of the tank
Post by: mjb765 on September 18, 2023, 01:29:11 PM
2018 CVO Road Glide....wind coming up from in front of the gas tank. On my 2020 Limited I have black shields that connect to the eng guard, but that only works with the full size guard. That bike has a much calmer ride (less air around the rider) than the 2018 CVO. Will the front spoiler fix any of this air coming up or does anybody have any other solutions. Looking at this spoiler.

I had that exact spoiler on my FLTRXSE (2022) and it didn’t help with the airflow between the tank and spoiler.

Beats me...that's why I ordered from them--so if it doesn't fit I can return it. The site says it fits a 2018 CVO Road Glide.....

Looks the same as the bat wind deflector, & that one works well

Those used to come on dressers. Both my Road King and Electra Glide had these from Factory. Harley sold chrome replacements at that time, in the 2001 - 2007 range. I never saw they did anything and removed them after a few miles on both bikes. To each his own

Mike the baffle that you bought is for bat wings. I had used that one and it worked great on my bat wings BUT when I installed one on my RG (exactly like yours) not so much. It's about the fairing and I believe that this one is what you're after. They seem to come standard on the Ultra RG's but not on the others.

No...I have those on my '20 RG Limited, but they do not fit on a CVO with the chopped eng guard. It was suggested that with some cutting and wire ties they will fit. That would be my next step if this one doesn't help.

The site says it...Fits '15-later Road Glide® models (except FLTRT, '18-'23 FLTRXSE

That's right, I forgot that I was the first on here to change the chopped engine guard out and ad lowers, which Harley said wouldn't fit. I would do it again in a heartbeat. 10 times the wind mngmt. in my opinion, but that doesn't help you.

Sorry, good luck

Thanks anyway....got the lowers and the big eng guard on the other bike..wanted to leave this one semi-naked.

Went for a ride.....I think the shield helped a bit....I am going to try installing the black deflectors over the winter.
