what's normal engine oil temp for a 110 CU SE ?

Depends.  What is the ambient air temperature for instance, since that will have an effect especially on an air cooled engine.  It will also vary depending on riding conditions, steady cruise versus hammering it to death, etc..  But according to H-D, normal oil temperature is approximately 230°F.

What Jerry said  :nixweiss:  Mine generally runs between 210 and 240, depending on ambient air conditions.  I've seen it once at 257, but I was stuck in Hot'Lanta traffic when it was HOT outside.  That's just going by the LED dipstick though, so don't know for sure if that's precise or not.  + or - 5 degrees doesn't really matter though.

When my 110 was stock, the oil ran about 215F, highway speeds, average air temp of mid 80'sF.  That's with the temp probe located in the oil pan.

Actually, anything and everything is NORMAL with a Harley.  Just ask them.

My oil temp on an analog oil temp dip stick is 215 running 70-80 mph for any length of time on the highway with outside air temps at 90-95.  That's on a springer with V&H 2-2 pipes and SERT.  Noticeably higher on the baggers with lowers on, based on what I see here posted by others.

Jagg makes nice oil coolers - superior to the MOCO cooler...   :2vrolijk_21:

my 103 dropped 35-40* as soon as my cats/head pipes were removed. That was huge last summer, I found it shutting down a cylinder as the temps were 300*+ on a 100* ambient day. Now, no heat issue has ever popped up since.
