I can't believe one of you electrical engineer types haven't figured out how to tap into the wiring harness on a CVO with the whim activated, and trick the system to think it has a microphone plugged in !!

if I recall it’s a matter having your dealer flash your system that a mic is installed and the CarPlay will work.
I have the GTS with WHIM and no mic and CarPlay works.

The dealerships stopped doing that because Apple threatened to sue them for removing a safety measure - I believe.
If you do an update to your system, you will likely loose that ability.

just did my 2022 cvo i just upgrade stereo system and flash my head unit and turn on apple car play check you tube volunteer audio.

When I upgraded from GT to the GTS, the radio came from Harley Flashed to use the WHIM and Carplay worked from day one. At the same time I upgraded the stereo system so I had have the GTS flashed to no-amp 4 speakers and the GPS needed to configure for North America. I’ve done two updates and all good
System updates does not change the GTS flash configurations. If it did then everyone that has done any stereo modification or upgrades would have to re-flash after each update.
If your dealer doesn’t want to flash your Mic on, I know that a lot of the guys that do audio upgrades will do it or rent you a digit-Tech type device.

Neither of my dealerships will even talk about it ....
