GTS software is available, version MY21.20.28.00 Downloaded it and installed it today. I have not figured out what it updates yet.

I have installed it on friday and it "unlocked" locked radio for changing features. So for sure it fixes the previous issue of bricked radios

Hopefully will have distance to first turn on nav!

Distance to turn would be real nice.
I was told it will let CarPlay work again with out a headset connected.

Thanks for the alert. I am going to sit this one out until I read on here that it is worth installing or, like prior updates, it made the GTS worse. Sheesh can't believe I had to write that about a global company in 2020.

I have not had a chance yet. Next week, I'm taking a little trip on the bike for 5 or 6 days so I'll be checking it out.

I installed it on my 20 and Apple carplay will not work unless the headset is connected. Kind of sucks, wish HD would just allow it to be enabled. Leave the phone and voice crap off if you must.

Different ass for every seat lol, the only reason I installed Android Auto and purchased the WHIM was so I COULD talk to the bike. I like being able to seek out gas, cigars, making or receiving a call, or searching for a place to eat while riding.

Yup, it's a good gig when I use it, there are times I wear a different helmet "sena doesn't fit" or no helmet and would just like to use the car play. Just lazy, I could pull it off the helmet and throw it in the saddle bag I guess.. L.O.L.

Apple CarPlay always required a headset connected before it would work. Nothing in this update changed that. But the dealer can flash so it doesn’t require a headset. I had that done and it works much better - not perfect but better. Before it was even more ‘finicky’ about initializing.

Just FYI: If you have a 2020 GTS Boom you NEED this update! If you do NOT install this update and try ANY other update you will get "Error 22" and your GTS is BRICKED and MUST be replaced.

RADIO’S
If you have a MY 20 - 21 GTS RADIO and you plan on ”Up-Dating” for additional options
and improvements, STOP! It will NEED to have it re-flashed BEFORE any up-dates are
installed to avoid having the Radio Replaced; once the “ERROR 22” appears, you WILL
have to have the Radio Replaced.
This is a Software issue: Owners can do it themselves by visiting https://www.harleydavidson.
com/us/en/owners/software-updates/boom-box-gts.html and downloading the
updated software and follow the instructions. You will need a USB Memory Stick to
perform the up-date.

That would be a big change. You have always been able to skip an update or even several if you wanted to with no issues and update later. You have also been able to install the old software if you did not like the new version.
This will be interesting to see if true.

I haven't fooled around with distance to turn but the time to turn is goofy. If you are 3 or more minutes from your turn or via it displays -- min. Soon as you drop under 3 minutes it displays 2 min then 1 min then 0. After you reach the turn/via it resets back to -- min unless you are under 3 minutes from the next turn/via. As i mentioned it's kinda goofy.
On a good note the latest update fixed the next turn freezing but it still doesn't show distance until you get to a mile or less.

About 100 updates ago it did have distance to turn and I just cant understand how it went away. Maybe its just me but I regularly ride places I have never been before and this is the only GPS I have ever used that doesn't give you that.

I did the update,anxious to see how the next turn freezing is doing with it because I have had tons of issues with that. Distance to next turn would be awesome to have back, someone said that if you have the Nav prompts on the voice will tell it to you, but I dont use the Nav prompts.

Well yes/no to voice prompt, there is a speaker icon in lower left and while riding, you need to use right joystick to find that speaker and press on joystick to select the speaker and it will announce distance. You can hear it if you have voice prompts up and if you are not riding next to someone with loud pipes, Etc.
There are so many useless (IMO) data pieces you can add to left and right window, like temp, elevation, distance to next via, speed (Uh, there is a speedometer right below the screen), Etc, I cannot for the life of me figure out why they can't add a distance to next turn option. Sometimes you have to wonder if any of HD "Engineers" have ever ridden a motorcycle.

I think that sums up the problem right there. Engineers most likely dont ride, and if they do ride they arent putting any miles on and arent touring on these bikes because if they did they would sure as hell be fixing these gps issues.

Well, I bit the bullet and installed update because I like the no sticking on next turn as reported. I also, even though I have a '19, do not want to chance a bricked radio. Still amazed that even when you pull up the turn list, ALL DISTANCE TO TURNS show EXCEPT for the next one coming! Now, how stupid is that?

Installed the new software and did a ride this past weekend. Next tun still freezes for me but the Pause Route and then Resume Route is now working to refresh the next turn. Distance to next turn still not available. For me didn't notice many fixes.
