2004 FXSTDSE
« on: November 04, 2006, 06:21:04 PM »

I want to buy a 2004 SE Deuce to match my 04 SEEG.  Doesn't matter on color although I have a preference for the blue, but that's what I said before I bought my O/B SEEG.  I'll bet the yellow looks great as well.  In any event, I have never riden one, what should I expect?  Did these bikes have some of the same chrome peeling issues like on the SEEG's or were there other problems?  Would appreciate some feedback particularly from those of you who own the SEEG as well.  Thanks.

I know where there is a Yellow & Platinum '04 SED2 with only 4960 miles, but the guy is asking $25,000.  It is stock except for V&H Bigshots and the passenger backrest that matches the seat.

I've ridden one, and although I don't like Softails, I really did like it.  I'm 5' 9", and the ergonomics fit me perfectly.

I have seen the chrome peel from the forged Detonator wheels that came stock on the '04 SED2's.  Chrome doesn't seem to adhere to billet or forged aluminum very well.

I think the Silver & Chrome engine looks better with the Yellow & Platinum paint than with the Candy Cobalt & Starlight Black paint.

A FAST VETT!!!!! LOADS OF FUN,LITTLE SILLY BUT TO MUCH FUN.I would do it again in a heart beat.Good luck on your search ther was a blue&black on ebay a week ago might try there.Oh the 113" has 3,800 on it now and hasen't hade a hitch ,just a little on the loud side in the valvetrain area due to the duration of the cams i think heard one other motor same build sounded the same.Sorry,I like to talk about these thangs.

$25K is way over priced for a 04SED.  If you shop around and watch ebay close, you can find cherry low mile 04's in the low $20K range, or even lower.

I haven't had an issues with the chrome or anything else for that matter. Imho, they are great looking machines, but certainly aren't comfortable for the long haul. However, they do make great bar hoppers.

Pete,

I have a banana SEEG and the '04 SED.  I love them both.  The deuce is my favorite.  I've done 650 miles on it in one day, it's just a great bike overall.  I get compliments on it every time I ride it.  Unfortunately for me, business has kept me working almost 7 days every week and I haven't been able to ride either SEs lately.  You won't regret the SED.  My SED was for sale here when I got the banana and it's still for sale.  I haven't seriously tried to sell it, but let me know if you're interested.

Hey Yellowsedeuce,

My son is interested in a deuce. My brother in law has an 04 he wants to sell but I told my son to save his money until he can afford what he really wants...a guards red 944.

See you on the road!

Now that's interesting!  The Guards Red 944 is for sale too even though it's not advertised!

Now, Let's Ride

I have a yellow and platinum 04 SED.  I get compliments all the time on it.  It rides like a dream and I wouldn't trade it for anything.  I may get another bike, but I won't trade in the SED.  I highly recommend it. :orange: :huepfenjump3:

It appears I may have paid a premium (24K) but I love my 04' SE Deuce CVO and the guy would have just kept it garaged for a dollar less and this baby was born to ride. It does have Phatail rear end kit HD installed and he paid 37K new (I have his old papers) and it is immaculate with only 2500 miles. Everywhere I ride I get envious stares and ooooooh's and aahhhhh's!  :2vrolijk_21:

Call me one satisfied "mark",
