I bought and installed the Kuryakyn neck covers recently. I notice that the neck cover on the right side of the bike seems to sit quite a way from the frame and it reduces the amount of lock when turning the handlebars to the right.

Has anybody else experienced this and if so what have you done to resolve the problem.

I noticed the same thing, but I haven't done anything about it yet.  The nacelle is not hitting the neck cover, so my assumption is that the front of the neck cover is contacting with the mass of wires in the nacelle preventing it from turning farther.  The gap between the nacelle and the neck cover when I turn the bars as far right as possible is so small, that I don't think I would gain much, by trying to fix it.  Plus the gap between the bike fram and the neck cover, came in real handy when I (2lane) installed the garage door opener.

How's that for not helping.

No question the larger gap on the right side is for all the wiring HD chose to run along that side, but I'm not having any restricted turn issue. I was concerned about that prior to installing, so I turned as far left and right as I could before installation and checked after. I think I have the same turning radius as before. And, I'm not hitting anything.

My left side certainly doesn't have any noticeable restriction, but the right side is definitely causing the head stock to touch the neck cover early, which consequently reduces my turning circle. It's enough to cause me concern when I want to complete a tight U turn to the right.

That is probably a good point Nige.  Over here, we U turn to the left.  I guess you would need to make tighter right hand turns, than left.  I had considered taking a dremel to mine to some off of the front of the right side piece.  You might send yours to d00d, I understand he can work wonders with a dremel.

I do need some practice. I'm sure not going to mess up my TP or my nice billet hinges learning how to use it.

I had ordered the delux neck covers back in May and was told that they were not in production yet.This was for my 08 SEUC3.When was yours ordered/delivered?

Fair comment, but I like to be able to do U turns equally which ever way I go. It seems like there is no easy solution other than taking them off, which I really don't want to do.

I think Uncle Dood need to practice on his own "parts" before I let him loose on mine

I do need some practice. I'm sure not going to mess up my TP or my nice billet hinges learning how to use it.

Mines the 07 SERK - I got them about four or five months ago.

Nige, just wondering, have you taken them off to check just exactly how much turning radius your losing?  Is the back of your nacelle hitting the neck cover, or is it stopping before it makes contact?
