Springer Springs

I'm having nightmares already about rust on my Springer's front springs. What's the best way to keep em shiny? I'll already taken under consideration: not riding, saran wrap, duct tape, replacing them with a Dyna, hired bikini-clad BSR and painting them. However, I do think the hired help deserves further thought.

07 springs show no sign of rust as yet,  i am not anal about cleanin, a hose down and a wipe dry is all the attention  my bike gets.

what did go rusty with mine was the suspension damper, keep an eye between the bottom of supension pot and the lower mounting. I just keep mine clean with chrome cleaner and wd40

I'm thinkin a coat of spray wax every week after cleaining... like pledge... or something that can get in those impossible niches.

Hi
I have a 1994 Springer as well as my 07 CVO springer. I always make sure the springs are dry(with a hair dryer) after washing. Wax them as best I can when doing a full detail but as you say can't really get in there fully. Mine still look as good as new after 15 years.

Wash, dry thoroughly, dry again, spray lightly with W-40 and wipe clean of excess.

Thorough drying and a good protectant some use wd-40 I prefer S-100 corrosion protectant spray, use it on her belly and all hard to reach or impossible to reach areas the key to success is to perform this act religiously every cleaning because once the corrosion gets a good hold its very hard to stop. If this fails the "Bikini clad emergency cleaning crew" is warranted !!

I have a 07 FXSTSSE Springer. I use a silicone ( Liquid Wrench by Gunk) spray. I just spray it on and the with a cloth work it in. You can use it on your chrome to prevent it from pitting over time. It just coats and protects.

I don't do chit with my 97 FLSTS other than when I wash I am careful to dry well with the blaster. After 12 years they still look great. I recently saw my old 92 Springer and it's still look fine after 17 years. (see below)
