black box.....beer cooler..  yeah I know, half empty.

Half full in my book!  Great garage.

Mine has a fridge with kegerator, stereo, table and chairs, couch, tiki hut bar, rug, grill, portable fire pit, and two harleys in the summer.  Now it has two cars, 2 cord of fire wood, and a snow blower.

Amazing garage, I am in the planning process of a detached 24x24 garage.  I would be thrilled if it comes out even half as nice as yours.  I have 3 bikes and a direct lift that I plan to recess in the floor.  Right now looking into the lighting, work spaces/tool storage and outlets. Also looking on this site for floor paint/ coverings  All I need is the town to say okay for a permit and I am on my way....

Jack

Plan also to have a lot of receptacles in the ceiling.
You know, , , lights, door openers, battery tenders, fans, etc.
Also airlines, I have 5 locations on the walls and two in the ceilings.
I have the direct lift also, wish I had recessed mine.
Good luck!

Last year we did a recessed lift for one of the guys and when it was done I am not that happy with it.

nice that it is floor level and flat to drive over, but it is also 6" lower down in the pit for it.

Now when you work on a bike the lift/bike is 6" lower to work on. it's O.K. for upper work ( seat, gas tank ect) but not good for oil change, lower motor work ect. You just bend over to far to do the work.

Next time you have a bike up on a lift some place, put it at full up, than lower it 6" and do some work on the lower side of the bike and you will see what I am trying to tell you.

Thanks for mentioning about lowering the lift below the floor height....funny I never thought of that.   I can't afford to lose 6 inches   LOL.  Thanks for the info....I think I will leave it at ground level and push it around if I have to.     Thanks   :)

View in Jan 07.  Day the Jester arrived.  The grill, fridge, fire pit, snow blower, and firewood are in the same locations as now.  Only difference is the Jester is in storage.  You'll have to visit in the summer to get the whole effect then with the patio, pool, and set up garage.

Jack, thanks for the kudos.   My only suggestion is keep the lift on the floor and don't inset.  You will be stuck with the lifts in one position if you sink them and a pain in the ass to keep the floor clean.   I already moved my lifts to the left bay which gave me an open bay to park the tahoe at night.    Draw it out on paper first before you start buying cabinets, etc.   I ran my air around the block ledge on the floor with three outlets to cover the work area.   Don't forget pull down extension cords and plugs for the door openers.  Good luck with the permit process.

What brand/model is that refrigerator.  I would like to find 1 with the shelves for beer bottles.  That would be perfect.

Big Tom,

Garage looks great.  I need to come down and check out the cooler!   :2vrolijk_21:

Looking forward to the ride down to Daytona!    :orange:
