Next Project Bike
« on: March 05, 2011, 11:10:46 PM »

Picked up my next project bike today in Austin, TX. Sitting in a hotel room in Abilene trying to warm up to make the final 500miles back home tomorrow. I will post pics along the way as this bike transforms from stock into something different and wonderful.

Well, I figure it's going to be a least 3 months, maybe a little longer.
It's summertime and the two shops I am using are bound to get busier
plus I have a lot of decisions to make (which can be a struggle at times :) )

what are your ideas for this one?

Here are some of my ideas.

21" front wheel
Lowered rear-end and matching front-end w/progressive mono-tube.
Extended bags and rear fender
Stretch tank and side panels to match
Shorter windshield and painted - no sure on brand yet need to see what fits the look
New handlebars, again based on what fits (both me and the flow of the bike).
Extended forward controls instead of floorboards
Audio system upgrade with speakers in the bags
Performance upgrade to the engine
and of course, a killer paint job

However, my performance shop has talked me out of a few ideas, like raked front end w/23" wheel and legend air ride - still mulling the air ride over in my head.

Jeez.. I think I spilled most of the beans!
