Most of the miles on my Ultra involved rain, so I'm not against riding in the rain, but getting caught in the rain is different than going for a ride in the rain.....

I don't think that Dave PLANNED to ride in the rain, but when you're on a trip and have somewhere to get to, and it's raining... Well, ya gots ta does what ya gots ta does, Olive. Ahh Gugg Gugg Gugg Gugg!

I do have a standing rule that I do NOT leave the house on the bike in the rain, and I don't intend to break it.

On that thought... my new SE Incinerator rain suit was delivered yesterday. Odd name for a rain suit, Incinerator... but I like the suit. I think I'll wear it for the ride up to Maggie Valley for the GTG next month... even if it's clear when we start out. With my luck this year, it will almost CERTAINLY be raining by the time we arrive!

I have left the house twice in the rain, once last year to ride to Biketoberfest.  Was only sprinkling when I left, torrential downpour when I hit Atlanta all the way to Macon, 30 mph on the interstate.  Stopped raining about 90 miles from Daytona. 

Then this year my first ride to MI for my dads surgery.  But it was a light sprinkle and not bad at all stopped by the KY line and beautiful the rest of the way to MI.  However the trip home was heavy rain From Ohio to Knoxville TN, and just sucked.

I never plan to ride in the rain.  However if I have someplace I need to go and be by a specific time, I will leave the house in the rain if it is a trip out of state.

Sure hoping next Tuesday evening and Wednesday for my ride to Milwaukee is no rain!  Sure would be a nice change.

We have just had our SECOND  day in a row here... And the forecast is FINALLY for the next several days! This will be the LONGEST streak ALL YEAR! And I am RIDING tomorrow! WHOO-HOO!

Yeah Pete... this weekend is our Labor Day weekend... Traditional end of summer holiday.

It's now been DRY here for SEVEN DAYS! It as if someone literally turned off the water spigots. The last time it rained was, of course, when I was on that tuning run last Thursday that I posted about.

There's a 50% chance of RAIN in the forecast for the Labor Day weekend. We'll see how that turns out... I WANNA RIDE, DAMMIT!!!

And I will have my rain suit with me if I ride this weekend!

Got 4" Sun with more to come today. My barn road washed out into the Hwy for the 4th time this summer. Lived here for 17 yrs and it washed out 1 time, now 4 times in one summer.

Wow... Sorry to read that, Jimmy. This summer has been a really WET MESS here in the southeast.

I have not had to deal with washouts... but I will need to reseal parts of our 500' downhill driveway to protect it from FREEZING in what the Old Farmers Almanac says is going to be a hard, cold winter. The squirrels have been GORGING on acorns (another "cold winter" signal...) and dropping sharp little shell pieces EVERYWHERE, too. So much for walking around barefoot.

But right now, I'm more concerned that the whole friggin' HOUSE may slide down the hill if this chit doesn't stop soon! I am thankful for all of the gullies on our downhill-from-road-to-creek property... they give the water a place to go OTHER than our basement. Hydraulic pressure can move just about anything in its way!

This rain has followed me around ALL SUMMER LONG... and I have no DOUBT that it will rain in Maggie Valley. It ALWAYS rains in Maggie Valley when I'm there... even when it's sunny everywhere else!

      Sorry to step in your poodle,..or ripple the pond over there but it's as if your having our usual summer and we're  having yours over here.

I think maybe 4 days rain since May and not all at once. Got too be a good 10 years since we've had a summer like this. It's was always a gamble on vacation,.."HOPE THE WEATHER HOLDS"
