I think a road trip that involved all of these roads would be pretty cool.  Not sure work will cooperate for a few more years....but one of these days.

The fact that no road in Arkansas made the list makes it null, void, and highly questionable.

I've had the pleasure of riding all but these on the list.  My favorite of the one's I have ridden would be the Going to the Sun Hwy in Glacier....took me two weeks to finally catch my breath from all that beauty.  My second would be the Natchez.  Different beauty than Glacier but beauty just the same...the PCH wasn't too shabby, either :2vrolijk_21:
Gotta ride these some day...
8. California State Route 36
9. Lolo Pass, a section of U.S. Route 12, Idaho and Montana
10. Angeles Crest Highway, a section of California State Route 2
13. California State Route 58, from McKittrick to Santa Margarita
14. Ohio Route 170, from Calcutta to Poland
15. Washington Route 129 and Oregon Route 3, from Clarkston, Washington to Enterprise, Oregon

Only 3 of the 15. Nice to know there's lots more to ride. Can't believe nothing from the Black Hills or around the Great Lakes made the list.

The author must have been from CA. Driven most of those in a car and they are beautiful.

10 of 15, which include Highway 36 (grew up nearby), Going to the Sun Road, Beartooth, Million Dollar, Dragon, Naches Trace, BRP, Route 33 to Seneca Rocks and Cherahola.

I wouldn't put Naches in the top 15.  As I've ridden better roads in Arkansas that didn't get that high on the list.

The Dragon?  Nope.  The Natchez?  It's scenic but that's about it.  Nothing in Arkansas, only 1 road in VA/WV/MD, nothing in VT/MA/NH.

These "best of" list really only represent the opinions of those that write them.  Didn't even bother to read it because I already knew that I would question the choices.  JMHO   :drink:

Only 5.  Some a couple of times, but number 12 - dozens of times in both directions.  Fun on a bike, but fun in my MINI as well!

Was heading east one evening (still light) and had a SV650 rigged for twistys fall in behind me from a cafe.  By the time we got to the one of the really good parts, all the cars were gone.  I was on an '08 Ultra, so waved him past.  Stayed on his tail the whole way into Harrisonburg.  A the first light, I pulled up next to him.  He flipped open his shield and said "I didn't know you could ride a bike like that, like that.".  We pulled into a gas station, made our "I'm not dead" calls, and proceeded to talk for about an hour and a half.  Good times.

I'm missing 2, the Million $ Hwy (at the top of my list, but the weather didn't cooperate this year ~ mud slides and early snow) and the road in Ohio.

Have made 11 of the 15. Would quickly mark off the Natchez Trace! While scenic in places, more suited for a minivan. Putting it at #11 made me want to quit reading. And got to agree with them Razorbacks, nothing in Ark....you gotta be chitting me.

The Natchez is different....no high speed anything there.  However, the scenery and "lazy" pace make it a great road for me, at least.  I enjoy the fast, curvy stuff but it's nice to slow down and smell the flowers once in a while.... ;D

Agreed, however I wouldn't go out of my way to ride it again.  I'd go back to Colorado for the MDH and several other roads there in a heartbeat.

I'll tell you another awesome road is 141 from Whitewater Co to Vancorum Co. And 95 north from Blanding Utah toward Lake Powell in the Glen Canyon National park. Utah is beautiful State too ride. Just have to watch the heat.

The AR dragon is good. it's about 40 miles from my house. If you like that you need to ride Hwy 9 from Sylamore (just north of Mtn View)
to Melbourne. 20 of the best miles in Arkansas IMO.

It's not on their list but Rt100  in Vermont is among my favorites in the New England area. Then there's Hawks Nest in Deer Park NY - part of the Upper Delaware scenic byway.

if you like that you need to ride Hwy 9 from Sylamore (just north of Mtn View) to Melbourne. 20 of the best miles in Arkansas IMO.

That's probably my favorite stretch in Arkansas.  Though 7 south out of Harrison is also a nice scenic but generally non-challenging ride.

I've got some of the 15.  But not all.  Doesn't count until I get them all I guess.  Just means I've got a few rides yet to look forward to.

These roads are unique in their own way. I've been very fortunate the past few year to be able to travel on several of these roads and many others that are not on this list. I won't be able to do it many more years due to my back condition. But while I able and can afford too ride, I'm on a mission too see as much of this country before the guy in the white house ruins it for us all................God Bless our Country, Please! I have many more roads too ride. ;)

I'll have to check that road out this year, I also like the Pig Trail Hwy 23 from Brashears to Ozark.

I think the Dragon should be off the list. There are much better roads in the same area without all the idiots on the road.

While I haven't ridden number 14 in Ohio, Looking at it on the map I can sure pick a lot of other roads that will simply impress any rider in this state. Guess I'll have to ride it this year and see what the fuss is about. Looks pretty damn straight to me for the most part.

The best guide book I have used is Destination Highways. They have them out for Washington,British Columbia.and Northern California. They are working on Southern Cal and Oregon .destinationhighways.com is the web site. Met them at the motorcycle show in Seattle and really use the books.

Just looking at the first two had me laughing out loud.  There are a couple dozen roads within 2 hours ride from where I'm sitting that blow away anything the Texas Hill Country has to offer and far better than the overrated Dragon.

Why not have a CVOHARLEY Top 10 list from each State, Province, etc.

I'll start a new thread asking each member to list just their #1 favourite from their State or Province and that should give us enough to create a Top 10 from each.

Just gotta watch the gravel and the driveways. SR536 from Hannibal to 78 is another one like 555 but a lot cleaner.

Just found out I'll be vacationing in Mountain View this year last week of July. There'll be a small group of us staying at the Best Western.  I'm sure I'll be checking out Hwy 9. Feel free to come by if you like.  :)

Check 15 for me.  If you haven't ridden the Sierra Nevada mountains it's a must.  I'm not a "must ride route" junky, but there are some beautiful roads on the west coast.  That's not to take anything away from Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Idaho and SD.
