Congratulations! We have American, European, And a few Japanese in our stable. Only thing I might quarrel over is that red would have been a better choice  :2vrolijk_21:

Nice color, that would be my choice too! I had an '07 GL1800 for a while when I got pissed about my 2005 SEEG. I changed the screen greeting when you turn the key on to say "Hello Winger" just to mess with my harley buds .... always good for a laugh. Great bike, but I eventually missed HD and unfortunately I can only have one good bike or I would still have the wing.

Chip, have you had the chance to ride a Wing for any extended periods before?  Or will this be your first opportunity?  I've spent long afternoons on Wings a few times and never had any complaints.  Actually quite like the bikes.  Their systems integration blows our stuff away.  Unlike a lot of the brethren I never hated the looks either.  It'd be better if it was that dark red they offer.  But enjoy the ride.

no no no NO. You rice burner lovin' SOB! So this is how it works huh. We talk about the GTL and then you ask me about getting another Wing and all the while you have this scheme cooked up!!! Well FINE!  ;D

Congrats on getting a Wing. Blue one at that. When you putting flames on it? Thought about getting a blue one and doing just that.

Actually I've been thinking the last couple of days about what bike would pull one of those camping trailers and while a bagger would do well, I've always seen them behind Wings. I haven't heard of a GTL with a hitch behind it but I know it would have the sauce to pull one if a hitch was available. Reading more about the GTL and remembering the test ride of a 2012 GTL (June 2011) I just don't think it would fit me well, which is why I went to look at the Wing and then on to the Ultra back in 2011. Love the Ultra and the way it rides but the reliability of the Wing is hard to beat. Guess if I go looking again I'd have to try out an 1800. Who knows where I'd be today if I had been allowed to test ride a Wing before the CVO but things work out for a reason.

So enjoy the new to you Wing and let us know how it goes. I'd also like to know if the newer Wings allow you to set the cruise control above 80mph. As mentioned before, my 1500 locks out at 80 on the cruise. That's good for most States but out West in the remote areas if you ain't doin' 90 you're slowing down traffic. Was hoping Honda would surprise the planet and build a GL2000 with a 6 sp but who knows when or if that'll ever happen. Then what would I do. Figure what the heck, I'll post up a Sept 13 photo of my 1500. With around 25,000 miles on the clock it's not even broke in yet.

Have a blast and keep us updated.  :2vrolijk_21:

Chip, good luck with the New Ride !!! I never rode a wing yet !!! but owned many Honda's and I must say they are more Dependable / Reliable than any H.D I owned so far, back when I had the metric bikes the only problem was they did not hold there value like H.D did but that has all changed now because H.D'S do not hold there value since 2004 anymore.
Let us know what you think after you put some miles on that bad boy.

Congrats, Chip.  Good looking steed and will make a nice addition to your "fleet".  I owned one of the 2002 1800's when they came out.  Kept it for a Summer and put 10,000 miles on it before selling it and buying a 'Busa.  And yes, before you comment, I was going through a "bike other than a Harley" phase for a few years.
Loved the 1800 and while I never owned the previous models Wing, can say the 1800 was a blast to ride.  A bit cramped for long distances (which highway pegs would have solved quickly if I had kept it longer).  It was red so much faster than the "stock" wings....ha, ha.
Have owned quite a few different brands since I started riding in '74.  All are fun/different in their own way.  Some I'd like to have again while others I wouldn't ride if it was the only thing available (my old Suzuki 450L comes to mind....)

Enjoy the Wing and keep it between the ditches.....

Congratulations on your new ride.  It is great to have different rides to select from.  Great to have several options available.  :2vrolijk_21:

When I had to get a new tank for the Sportster, I should have gone with the blue tank... kind of regret going with the stock color...

Next bike on my list is going to take me back to a sport bike... miss having one, so adding a Ducati Panigale 899 to the stable.  They don't come in Blue, so Red will have to do...
