CB's on 2017 models???
« on: August 26, 2016, 11:32:40 PM »

If someone visits a dealer to check out the new 2017's in the next few days, could you please confirm if in fact a CVO Limited comes equipped with a CB or do you have to order the unit?

The only thing I have read says a '17 CVO Limited "supports" a CB... The pics of the CVO show 2 antennas and the dash having the input for the headset.  When I visited my local dealer the rep I spoke with couldn't confirm if the CVO came with a CB or not.  However, they had a 2017 reg. Limited and there still is a input for the headset (who knows what's inside though), but it only has one antenna (for AM/FM) and NO PTT button!  The dealer rep didn't think you could even order a CB for the reg. Limited, and they just didn't change the dash yet.  Plus the paperwork does not say the reg. Limited "supports" a CB like the CVO version does.

If someone gets to see a CVO Limited and could confirm this one way or the other, it would be helpful and most appreciated to hear once and for all.

Thanks!
Grizzly

PS - I know a CB is not a big deal to most, but in our riding group CB's are used regularly.  With the size of group we usually ride with, we find them very useful.

If I remember correctly, it doesn't. I was there a couple days ago, and the salesman was explaining some kind of new bike to bike system, and a bluetooth system that looks a lot like a Sena. Well, it did have almost the exact same Sena model number. but I'm not sure he knew exactly what he was talking about as both him and the bike were new.

According to the parts list for the 2017 CVO Limited, the CB is standard equipment.  The way I understand it is that the CVO still gets the CB standard, but the regular Touring models do not.  Wandering through the parts lists seems to confirm that.  The Harley Accessories catalog lists this for those wishing to add that capability to bikes with the infotainment system.  They don't call it CB, but it has 40 channels and uses a CB antenna.  So it's a CB.

The CB can be added to any of the new street glides, road glides, limiteds and so on.  Added a CB to my wife's 15 road glide special, dealer had to flash radio.
