Took a ride to Seacoast H-D with Dead_Reckoning and his neighbor Mike to look at the new 2014's. What I came away with was a wish to be small enough to be able to look normal on a Sportster. Harley-Davidson's best styling efforts for the past two model years have gone into the tricked out Sportsters (in my opinion) As to the "big" bikes, As noted elsewhere the air vent would not have been an issue had they simply moulded it into the fairing without the added extrusion AND making that extrusion black. What could have been a good add is an eyesore because the folks in design seem to think that when you add something new you want it to be noticed in a big way. On the black bikes the vent and extrusion blend together fairly well and you can see how it would have looked had somebody in Willie G's studio had his thinking cap on. Beyond that as I have noted before, each new model year seems to see the classic H-D lines being changed enough that in a couple years a H-D will look like a big Yamaha or other metric bikes. The best description I can give is they look "puffy". My 07 has sharp lines, ridges and corners that define the overall look of the bike. The 2014's I looked at seem like that guy who used to teach painting on TV designed them with his "puffy little clouds" touch. My apologies to anyone this offends, but it's what I see and how I feel about it
