Don

The next time a bear runs out in front of you, snap a picture, come up with a name to identify the species, and post the picture...

Then you can add "Active Member CVO Harley Critter Gawking Society" to your moniker.

Will do.  Actually had a camera slung around my neck that day.  The little bastard came across the road two bikes in front of but I was paying far more attention looking over in the direction he was going for momma bear than I was to grab the camera in time.  I snapped a couple pics but missed him.  Bad aim.....

This critter gawking is fun. Here is a good looking raccoon and a sweet looking bear from today.

The bear does look sweet but that raccoon looks a little sketchy.  The candy kitchen better check its inventory.

I do suppose that we need another classification for those members who choose to participate in Critter Gawking activities such as you have demonstrated. Let it be known from this point forward that any and all members who choose to participate in Critter Gawking activities shall be permitted and encouraged to refer to themselves as Active Members of the CVO Critter Gawking Society with all rights, privilages and accolades.

Does the goat on the hill in MV count?

Well

The goat would count if he hadn't already been classified by another member. If I remember correctly several of us first identified him with a spotting scope just after breakfast one morning, we even named him George and his companion is Georgette. Since that time George has become the defacto Mascot of the 2016 MV GTG. The Society would welcome any pictures that you may have of George, if in fact you have some photos, but as he has already been classified he may not be used to secure active membership status.

Do dead critter count if they're in your driveway and maybe 25 feet from a parked bike?

Critters should be alive and well as no harm during gawking may occur to said critters. Gawking at dead critters is considered bad form and does not count for inclusion to the society.
