Title: chrome oversized headlight bezels on the springers?

I have been looking at all the posts and on some pic's of these beautiful bikes i notice the larger headlight bezels on some bikes. Is this just purely for a cosmetic look or is their some function to it?

looking at them again they almost look like a whole different aftermarket headlight. hmm.

I have a HD trim ring on mine ,the one with an eyebrow...

Mine is a HD trim ring. I like the way it looks. Just personalizing it to my style.
