I had the opportunity to do a tour of the York P.A. plant last week. I was impressed. If any of you are passing through the area it is worth the stop.

They do a CVO group tour in the spring. Great time with a great bunch of people.

It's a pilgrimage to Mecca for some.

I was there in July the plant was closed to tours but the gift shop was kind enough to take $230 from me. I do enjoy what I bought. We are thinking about returning in Sept. for the open house.

I went for the plant tour and it ended up being the day after they stopped '08 production, so there wasn't much going on. No bikes being built. We got to see the process for the manufacture of a few parts, and then off to the gift shop. We all decided that we will have to make the ride again, since that ended up being the lowlight of a great 3 day ride.

We are think of making the trek down as a company trip. Maybe as a company sponsered holiday trip. Close the shop for a day and go have some fun! :pineapple:

My wife and I had the pleasure to join the CVO tour in April. It was a very good tour. Because of the production cuts, the Touring production facility (that is the factory you normally would tour on a regular tour) was shut down that day, and they had switched the tour to the Softail production facility, which is Harley's newest factory (2003). It is similar, but much more modern and much larger than the Touring factory. Quite impressive. From there we were bussed over to the CVO factory, the smallest of the three in York. Needless to say, that was most exciting for our group. A quick walk-thru through the Touring factory followed, and we had "three-out-of-three", quite unique. If the higher uppers on this site organize another CVO visit to York, I'd urge you all to join (attendance is limited, however). It a very nice experience.
