Power "top out" on Harley breathers?
« on: August 21, 2017, 09:04:47 PM »

I am in the works of a 117" build on my 2014 Street Glide CVO. Currently running the screamin eagle chisel billet air cleaner. Bikes with a similar setup are making 135+ hp/tq. Do you think this breather would be a bottleneck? Not opposed to another, but don't want to replace if it's not needed. Anyone have this style of breather on a machine pushing up to the 140 mark? Thank you!

That looks great! I do have a 58mm TB already. Which breather do you have specifically on this monster?

The stock breather is costing me about 3hp/3tq on my 117. I've been waiting to see if I could get the Wide version from Tilley's, but I think I'm gonna end up with a T-man Zero Loss one. I've been told the main restriction on Ventilators is the narrow width. Hope that helps some

Thanks for the reply. I never got an A/B comparison between my stock ventilator and the chisel. The surface area looks like it would be great, but from what I've read the heavy breather is hard to beat.

That's another cross roads. I have lower speakers. Wondering if the HB will fit if I remove the speaker grills, then maybe add some lower profile grills later.

Yeah. It's not cheap. That's why I was hoping for the Tilley's version, but it looks like it's not gonna happen. At least anytime soon. But I've seen T-Man's and he makes them in house
