Speedo gone "foreign" (With apologies to Canuck and Jaques)
« on: March 29, 2007, 04:42:20 PM »

For some obscure reason my UK HDI SEEG speedo has decided to show Km instead of Miles like it has for the past 15,500.

There's got to be a way to reset it using the magic button  - but how??

I've had the Powercommander hub fitted recently and it seemed to happen after that but I have also had a very low battery (since replaced) and that might have corrupted a bus signal somewhere (maybe?)

Anyway - can any of you geniuses help me please?

Cheers

OK - Panic over

I just had a  :drink: - (actually a scotch) and went and pressed the button.

Hold it in and the units change from Miles to Km and back again

I never knew that before - I guess it's an "undocumented feature" to mis-quote Bill Gates

It's going to be convenient when touring in France this year though...

Cheers and good night all

Sorry, my friends for UK

But your bikes are ready for the entrance in Europe. ;)

You'll test the Km during the ride in Spain  :2vrolijk_21:
It'll be longer than in Miles but the country is nice ! :cherry:

Yeah - I must admit I like riding in Km - seems like you are getting there faster 'cos the numbers are bigger and they go by quicker.

Bike went back into the dyno man today

I'll write up the whole story later but basically the Dealer screwed up - again

Cheers

I noticed that feature while playing with "the magic button" when I first got mine.  If I ever get up to Canada I'll use it.

Middle Wallop, United Kingdom   Looks like in the 60's and partly cloudy all week, sounds like a nice Spring Dave.

And now it's raining cats and dogs, when it's a holiday and I want to be out riding - after three weeks sitting working looking out the window at gorgeous sunshine!!   :-\

Yep it's been a real nice Easter weekend - (Sorry Jim - why do you think I moved from God's country?)

I've been out riding every day and took the Missus a couple of times too (so it MUST be warm)

Bike is going just great and the fuel economy is improved a little with the 575 cams fitted (and a decent dyno tune...)

I'm getting 38 - 40 mp(UK)g on a mixture of riding (Highway/Country Roads - take me home - to the place....)

But since a US gallon is only 0.83 of a UK gallon (Must be the only thing thats bigger in UK than in the US  ;))

My consumption figures are nearer 32mp(US)g.

Well I think I'll go wash some of the bugs off and give her a little TLC (the bike - not the missus)

Cheers
