I have only in my life time bought 3 vehicles that cost more, My wife's Range Rover, only 1K more with the price I negotiated.  My 14 Corvette Stingray and then the 18 Corvette Grand Sport.

I do think it has the best paint scheme for any of the 2020 CVO's.  There are lots of nice sport cars you can buy for that money.   MX-5 Miata convertable grand touring is 34K with almost every option.

After looking at the photo's Naitram has posted of the 2020's, I can't help but wonder if Harley brought the CVO paint in-house.  I mean, there is nothing I've seen that couldn't easily be done in their regular paint shop.  Solid colors, simple graphics that appear to be nothing more than decals.  The auto industry does that kind of stuff in-house all day long.

Hopefully the paint is much better in person than in the photos.  Even so the paint does not appear to be anything special.  The spectacular paint jobs on the many CVOs I've had is one of the big reasons I got them.  These two color combos just don't do it for me.

And those low profile tires.  Yikes I think the Tri-Glide would ride like a buckboard with so very little sidewall to flex and absorb shocks.  I know on my 2018 Tri-Glide I added aftermarket rear shocks, changed the rear tires to a more compliant type in order to improve the stock ride which was gosh awful . . . and it doesn't have low profile tires.

If I were going to have to look at a trike (that might be closer than I'd like to admit) then it would be to something that really stands out in the crowd (like the CVOs used to!).....

White one looks pretty good in the Sun.  That said the average observer would not seem much to make it a CVO.  The white has very good flake in in,  but the graphics are subtle and don't jump right out.

Saw it today at Smith Brothers H-D in Johnson City, TN.  Demo truck is here for the H.O.G. rally.  It was slightly overcast so no direct sun on the paint but it didn't impress me at all.  And the graphics definitely do not pop.  Oh and no CB or Sirius XM  . . . and for only $50k (or more).  Think I'll pass.

HD missed a very good opportunity with this CVO Trike.  Paint/graphics so-so & they leave off items that have been standard equipment on CVO bikes as icing on their cake.  Bean counters running the company & marketing is asleep at the switch.

Definitely.  And the photos that Neal posted clearly show two antennas - one for AM/FM and the other for CB.  But the CVO Tri-Glide I saw had only one antenna.  Now I know some folks don't like and don't use the CB but for the riding group(s) I'm involved with the CB is a definite must have.  We use it and it is a great riding and safety aid.  Bummer that they omitted it and the Sirius XM radio for sure and for that price point.  Just insane imo.

Heck, I recently purchased a 2014 SL550 with only 20K on the dial for less money then they want for the CVO Trike in Canada - $60,000.

The car is a dream to drive and no helmet head when I get out!   ;D

Let me think....a 2020 CVO trike for 50k or a 2020 Corvette  for 60k? Think I'd spend the extra and buy the Corvette. No comparison!

The fact that CVO's loose value so fast says alot about the CVO buyer. In my opinion it says that most CVO buyers are very well healed. They will buy a new CVO with all the latest updates but are less interested in buying used as it doesn't really grab there emotions the same way as a new ride does.

Used CVO's sell when they become a great value. Appealing to the Harley rider that always wanted a CVO but could not justify.

The result of these forces,  significant depreciation.

Harley feeds this trend by making upgrades or changes one or two areas at a time. Unlike many competitors that come out with a significant change, leaving very small changes for years.

As a example, the 14 Rushmore was marketed as the biggest improvement, number of changes in Harleys history. The bike every Harley rider would wish for. In 17 the Rushmore was old news, the system for water cooled heads completly changed, along with the new M8. Value of 14 to 16 Harley's drop like a rock. 3 years after buying a 14 my dealer didn't really want it unless I bought another new one. No more new ones for me. Once upon a time Harleys were about more than just $$$. Not anymore!

Sorry, again, for the long rant.

This was not always true.  My09 CVO Road Glide did a very good job of holding its value.  Rode it three years, 47K miles.  Purchased it for 31,000 and got 26,000 in trade for my 12 CVO Road Glide.  My 12 CVO Road Glide was 31,000.  I put 46,000 miles on it in 2.5 years, and got 27K for it in Trade.

The 15 CVO Road Glide Ultra Was 39,000.  Two years later with 44K miles it was only worth 32 in Trade.

The newer 17.and 18 CVO's are taking an even worse beating.

I started buying CVO in 09 due to high resale.  I put miles on a bike, and did not need to add to the bike to ride it two to three years, then trade.  You get nothing for things you add on trade.

Not sure I will continue the CVO route with these faster deprecation rates, they are not holding value like they use to.  Price has gone up 10K in 10 years, while removing more and more from the bike.

It's hard to factor depreciation when you trade in on a new machine. Dealers can overpay for a trade using profit from the new rig.

The only way to know true depreciation is to sell the bike outright on a retail or wholesale basis.

Check out the retail prices on rumbleon.com then figure 2 or 3 grand less is what they paid. Kind of a rude awakening.

Another way to know the true value is to ask your HD what they would pay for your bike outright. Some dealers won't even make an offer.

Frankly, it's not just Harley. The entire used motorcycle market is in a slump. It's a buyers market. CVO'S drop more partly because they have more room to drop. Anyone buying a new $45k CVO will loose 20k within 3 to 4 years. Holding around 12K in value at 8 to 10 years. Then it's about condition more than anything along with how outdated it has become.

Example on Rumbleon.com

2016 CVO Road Glide Ultra with only 4,800 miles is $24,888. Figure they paid around $22,000 for the bike.

They have a large selection of CVO'S with low miles and cheap.

There is a CB on the CVO Tri Glide. I just ran into a friend of mine that bought the white one and he says the CB is on the bike.

That's good to know.  Perhaps the one in the demo fleet did no have the CB antenna installed.  They were moving it for the next guy to ride it so I did not have a chance to check if it had a PTT button for the CB.

The PTT button comes on CVO's with out the CB, as it was on my 17 CVO SG, 18 CVO RG and 19 CVO RG.  I'm glad it did as I always add a cb so I can talk with my wife.

I really like that color combo gpopvet!
I hope you have many happy and safe miles on it....what exactly do you hate about the seat? Having trouble reaching the controls or having trouble getting on and off the trike or is it uncomfortable in general when riding?

I have been and will continue to ride CVO's since 2000. My Lady has decided she is done with two wheels. She suggested a sidecar setup. We went to the dealer to look at a trike. There was a black CVO setting there. We fell in love with it an ordered one the next day. I will ride my 19 streetglide when I'm alone and proudly sport my Darlin' on the trike when she rides. I don't understand all the hating on the trikes. People told me I was crazy for paying that price in 2000 for a CVO. And 20 years latter they say the same thing. Thank God I'm fortunate enough to afford what I want. (And the boss wants) So hate on and I will see you in the wind.

Jerry
As posted previously I saw the white CVO TG back in September.  It was an overcast day so could not see any sparkle / fleck in the paint but just unimpressed with the look overall.  Hoping the black would look better and finally saw one yesterday at my local dealer.  It doesn't really excite me either.  As Jerry said the paint is just not at all comlicated and eye catching like the CVOs of not that long ago.  I've always relished the CVO models because they are so eye catching and appealing.  I figure if I'm gonna ride might as well ride something that the wife and I really dig.  IMO these CVO TGs could have been something really special but the moco missed the mark . . . and badly.

Obviously others do not agree as they seem to be selling . . . but just not for me.

All that matters is what you and your wife like. What others think doesn't matter at all.

Fact is; you should enjoy your life and money to the full extent you can. If money were no object I'd buy myself a new CVO too.

Good for you! I saw the white one at the Long Beach show and thought it was beautiful in person. I have never rode a 3 wheeler before but as I get older (not that far away now..) if my choices are to go to 3 wheels or not ride at all I would buy that bike in a second!

I’d just get a sidecar if I couldn’t ride 2 wheels.

Don't let that distract you from the fact that In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The  A-Team.

Pulled the trigger on the Blizzard White Pearl CVO Tri Glide. Being delivered Friday and will pick up my CVO Street Glide. I had only seen the Black one in person but the white was really nice when I saw it. Anyway to find out the production numbers?
