Title: New to group but not to HD - Hi from MA. & looking for answers.
Post by: RJOBE19CVO on April 07, 2023, 08:12:00 AM
 :soapbox:
19' CVO and the same problems with the Water Temp & Engine light.  Only 8200 miles and been in a dealer shop 3 times for a collective 6 weeks and $500+ bucks.  Getting Very frustrated with the HD company that doesn't support their customers and of course, we have no recourse other than the dealer.  I've been riding a long time and have a 99' RoadKing Classic full dresser with over 60k miles that has had less issue than the CVO.   Can someone help me understand WHY I paid cash for this POS?
I've been told to buy an Indian - don't go there with me and Indian.  Bought a 2018 RoadMaster off showroom floor and it spent the first week on the road (200+ miles) and the next 9 weeks in the shop getting a NEW engine!  5 additional trips to shop and out the door it went for the CVO.  DO I have to buy a GoldWing and become a Wing Dinger???

Greetings all and hope everyone's riding season is Awesome.  Be safe and keep your eyes on the other drivers out there.

Russ

Do I have to buy a GoldWing and become a Wing Dinger???

That's what I did, and I don't regret it.  Oh I kept my 2006 CVO Ultra (100,000+ miles), but that's for local rides and so I can say "I have a CVO".  However if I'm going somewhere far on a long tour, I'm taking the GoldWing. Just can't beat the dependability of a Honda.

Welcome to the site, we have a lot of experience and information here.
Consider joining us on our ride to Vancouver, BC in early September.

Welcome from Spokane.
Not all Harleys are lemons, just a certain percentage.
I've had 5 and on #6. Never bought a used one,  always felt that would just bring bad luck.
Like buying someone else's problem.
But my first CVO was a 2012 StreetGlide, a beautiful bike and really loved the ride and color combo.
We road it all over on trips,  but I  also put on over 500 miles back a forth to the dealer 5 miles away for warranty purposes. All in a 6 month time, they felt so bad they bought it back for the full amount we paid for it.
Our current bike 2015 CVO Limit has been another great bike and I would ride anywhere on it, in fact we're riding down to Zion National Park in July and my only concern is finding decent hotels along the way.
Then we'll go up to Victoria BC in September.
I'll be finding out how these Michelin tires do for mileage this year for sure.
Anyway good luck getting your issue figured out.

Welcome from Northern California. So sorry for your problems. We have all had our share of horror stories with HD and the dealers. What I have I will keep (4 HDs and a Honda F6B) but have no interest in buying another HD. Good luck and I hope the problem finally gets resolved.
