Put a thundermax on it and changed the AFR's, going to probably put an oil Bud oil cooler on it over the winter

Get rid of the STOCK mufflers because they do NOT allow the engine to breath causing a lot of EXTRA heat in the engine.  If you try to shine a flashlight through a stock muffler you would see that it does NOT allow the light to pass through it.... you can imagine what that means for the spent exhaust gases trying to escape.  I switched to a Thunderheader, had the bike dyno-tuned (lowered the A/F ratio to 13.2:1), and I use Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50 oil.

joe.f,

Could I talk you into attaching a bigger pic of your bike so we can check out the Thunderheader?

Thanks!

What numbers did you get on the dyno? Can you post the graph?

Sweet. Did the tuner bend the tabs in the T-header? How many?

thanks..... I've owned a couple of bikes over the last few years (2001 Superglide, 2001 Fatboy, 2002 Night Train, 2003 Big Dog Mastiff, 2006 Big Dog K-9), and this bike is one of the best overall.... looks, speed/ power, & ride w/ (02) people.  If necessary, it can accelerate fast enough to "dump" the rear passenger off.... it keeps my wife in check... haha!

Your bike is Awesome! I loved the Thunder Header on my FXRS! Best running pipe out of 15 different exhaust I tried! I put one on my 01FXDL and liked the performance however, It made my forward controls vibrate bad at freeway speed and made it hard to keep my feet on the pegs. I had the HD wide glide fwd controls at the time. I sold the T-Header from that bike. Have you noticed any increase in Vibration with the T- Header?  Again that is a sweet bike and I would love to have one just like it! I miss my low rider & my FXR!!! Face  :2vrolijk_21:

I'm new and just getting to the threads.
Nice bike Joe and good TQ #s.

To cool my bike I go faster. ;D

I did do a SERT, Propipe Chrome HO and now getting the 259e cams and pistons. I've been told that the lighter Dynas don't have the heating issues as bad as the touring bikes due to less weight and fairings. Hopefully true.

I see that you have two instead of one, definitely a more balanced look, plus if I'm reading correctly their website suggests a larger unit for anything above 96 ci so the duals do a better job and look better too!  :2vrolijk_21:

That's a D&D Fat Cat isn't it? What tuner did you get?
