Post by: +RO@D*R@GE+ on October 20, 2012, 02:34:17 PM

what are people using for replacement bulbs.....ones that are brighter then stock...looking for that pure white color (little blue)
also if you could give me the part numbers  and pictures of your lights on .......any info of what people are using would be great
thanks guys!! :2vrolijk_21:

oh also what watts should I be looking for for replacements? never had to change them out yet

I bought mine used and it has some PIAA lights in it. I can see that on the front of the bulb without taking it apart. I'm not sure what model they are though. I know they are very white and I can see great with them. I'll try to remember to get a better look tomorrow and see if I can get any more info off of them.

I installed two PIAA H4 Super Plasma GT-X bulbs in my 2001 SERG today.
They seem very bright. Are they as good as the LED's on my 12 SERGC?
 :nixweiss:-----> I hope not.
I will find out in the next couple of days?

 ;)

Post your thoughts between the two once you have had a chance to find out.

I really like my Daymakers on the Skunk, they really work well at night.

I can clearly see all the stamping on the metal part of the bulb without removing the bulbs. This is what's on there so I'm not quite sure which ones they are. 14B2 2woo4 PIAA H4 12v60/55w....Can't seem to find out which model it really is. I know they're a helluva lot brighter than the stock bulbs.

edit* looking at the bulbs themselves and comparing to the ones on the PIAA site, it seems like I have the Xtreme White Plus bulbs.

Well Dave the results are in.
I took the 01 SERG with the PIAA Super Plasma light bulbs around some local roads late this evening.
The PIAA bulbs light up the road well. On low beam they are much better than stock, on high beam it's like having twice as much light.
Then I screwed up.
 :nervous:
I thought, it's really dark, the PIAA lights do very good, let me compare them to the LED's in the 12 SERGC.
So I rode the same route with the 12 SERGC that I did with the 01 SERG.
Wrong thing to do!
There is NO comparison.
The Harley LED's are the bomb.
On a scale of 1 to 10 with the Harley LED's being 10 and stock being a 2. The PIAA Super Plasma bulbs are a 5.
They are much better than stock but not even close to the Harley LED's.
Oh well, it seemed like a good idea.

Thank you very much for the Honest information Chip.

I feel much better about dropping all that money on the LEDS for my Skunk.  I love them and they do a great job, but had those PIAA been as good or even a 9 with the LEDs being a ten I would have wondered about my purchase.

Looks like I will go ahead and order the Daymaker for the 13 CVO King that is shipping today to my dealer.

WOW, I am blown away with the level of performance of th LED's over the PIAA's. I really did not expect them to be that good. I would actually say that they would compare with the Xenon lights in a BMW. IMHO, worth every dime!

I would think the Black would look better than the chrome on the SERGC.... but does that affect how light reflects from the housing?

Not sure if you can tell by the pic because I had the flash on (was at a gas station at night) but mine are black.
