Talked to the dealer.....primary drive chain finally came in and it along with a new tensioner and compensator #5 were installed. When they started it they heard other 'noises' that were masked by the sound of the failing compensator ....now......they're opening the cam chest and top end.......70,000 km on a '12 with about $16,ooo of esp work done so far. At least they hear the 'not-normal' noises that I've been telling them about for the last 1.5 years since the rebuild.
Trade for a what?
I still miss my '12 Ruby, Dayne (and still one of Vickie's favorite bikes we've had). Still, and except for the color, I'm glad I'm out of it for these type reasons you are having. Beautiful is great unless you can't ride it or get it out of the service dept. You've done well mileage wise but $16K of motor work so far (canadian $ or US $) is a bunch. When the ESP runs out or they stop covering, what then?
Trade for what, you ask? I would suggest moving brands but that may not be where you want to go. Without extrapolating further on a CVO site, moving was the best thing I did. One of the first things Vickie said after we rode the new bike..."Why didn't we do this sooner?"
There are trade-offs on any brand. Nobody has the perfect motorcycle. You have a beauty and except for the '12 Skunk color combo, the Ruby/Typhoon is my second favorite CVO color combo.
Keep it between the ditches...
