After more than a year, I installed my hinges as part of the cleaning effort....and your bike will never truly be clean and detailed until you install the hinges!

Just look at the buildup under the old hinges after 17 months, imagine what yours look like after this many years!

I have tried to explain the situation time and time again.............. Dood TP hinges are conversational pieces only.
These quality TP hinges are not for installation.

And as I see it Dood it's working.....people are still talking about them.

You may need to ask Bill if he took of the gas tank.....because we all know the bike ain't clean until you do that

I reckon it's a state of mind.  If you can't see the dirt, then it ain't hurtin' nuthin'.  Problem is, I know it's there.  ADD and true OCD kicks in, and the next thing I'm doing is taking the tank loose, tilting it up and wiping it down.  Can only get so far though without taking it completely off.

I gotta be really bored outta my gourd to do that though.

Usually.....if I can't see the dirt...it don't worry me none.....sometimes.....I think.

That (KTP) is one accessory on my bike that it is (IMO) functional only. Truth be told I don't even like having it on the bike.... There have been occasions when I've had to use it to travel that I take it off and store it upon arrival. To me the bike rides/handles so much different w/that weight high when the KTP is attached and it just doesn't feel "natural/comfortable" to me.

Yea, what he said too..... The hinges weren't really sent to me.... well sent for me to keep anyway. I just had them for photographing purposes then I had to return them. The person(s) that sent them to me only did it to make conversation (IE: give me chit about not installing them).... it appears it is working.


This should really get the talking started now.


Oh, and Bill..... BTW - I don't take the gas tank off when detailing either.

If you dislike the TP so much then you really should use a different Avatar!  It clearly shows the dirt under the stock hinges

Didn't have any choice but to have it on that day was leaving NC headed to OH. If you look close the bike was dirty too.... we got caught in two days of frog choking rain prior to that picture being taken.
