2018 CVO specs

Recently purchased the 18 CVO RG but can't find the current engine specs. I was told, at the HD dealership, that it comes with the stage 3 but can't find any information on it. I wanted to install the Woods 777 cams when I install my exhaust and air breather but I'm not sure if that'll work since the website says 107-114 engines. I'm looking for more low end torque rather than high end power.

Anyone have any information on that particular cam with the new CVOs?

The cam for the 2018 CVO RG is part number 25400273, and it DOES NOT match any of the SE cams in the catalog.  In other words, it isn't one of the Stage XXX cams. 

I found these specs for the cam elsewhere, I can't speak to their accuracy but this is what I found:

               Valve Lift   Duration   Timing      Centerline   Lift @ TDC
Intake          .438         188      -9   17           103          .050
                 
Exhaust        .432         212      48   -16          122          .041
                     
Duration and timing @ .050" cam lift

Not really. I skipped the extended warranty purchase this time cause I knew I'd be installing more after market parts.

Already ordered the Woods 22X cam. Installing the Basani full exhaust and Arlen ness air breather. I'm keeping all the stock parts just in case. My brother has an auto shop with a couple of motorcycle lifts. We do all the work ourselves.

He's not saying it b/c he thinks it's your first rodeo.  Check the threads in this board (the M8 board) about sumping, and also the one about leaking piston jets.  Several people are on their 2nd engine; some on their third; there's a report that one guy is on his 7th (yes, 7th) engine.  You might just want to keep your warranty.

I’m not one to tell others how or what they should do with their new bikes. That being said its really not about my experience alone. If you  saw the # of PMs I’ve received from others regarding sumping vs warranty claims you would better understand that I was trying help. I was not trying to diminish your enthusiasm for the changes you want to make to your M8 engine. Just confirming your understanding of the known issues. Sounds like you’re going into your mods with eyes wide open, which is a good thing.

For the record, the Woods cams are great. I run the TW408-6 in my other bike. If I were upgrading a stage III/IV M8 cam and didn’t care about about warranty, I would definitely be installing the WM8-408 cam - ripping torque with terrific lift for high end hp on a strong breathing engine.

I sincerely wish you good luck and that your upgrades go exactly as planned.

Does the 408 require the spring replacements?

Yes, you would need either SE valve springs or the Woods BW-4V springs. Check with Bob at Woods cams. Let us know how the build turns out.

Glad to hear you're aware of the issue.  We've seen people burned on warranty and ESP who didn't know how joyfully the "protection" could get voided.
