CVO Deluxe Mufflers
« on: April 04, 2020, 07:27:45 AM »

Hi could anyone tell me the distance between the 2 bolts holding the muffler to the frame. Mine is 14cm or 5.5 inches, is this the norm?

To cut along story short I ordered some Cobra 6002 but when they arrived the mounting holes were to close together ( about 10cm ) but most websites in the UK say they will fit . However on the J&P site it redirects me to 6003 .

The best answer is to direct your question to the people who actually make the Cobra mufflers.   ;)

Oh, and ... Welcome from PA!

I am assuming your bike has the same exhaust setup/look in the UK as a 103 Heritage ? ( I am also assuming your bike is a pre 2017 Twincam with a 110 ?)

Reason I ask is the "Fatboy" type mufflers while looking identical to Heritage style mufflers mounting brackets and spacing on the  bike/frame is different. Fatboy after 2007 was "unique"

The 2015 CVO Deluxe certainly in Australia had a "Heritage" style exhaust setup , staggered shorty duals

Heritage had the same exhaust setup as Softail Custom/ Softail standard/ Softail Nightrain

No worries mate. Have a look at the exhaust setup on my avatar , my own 2008CVO Springer.

Now while that system is CVO Springer unique, all mounting hardware is like a 2007 and up Fatboy.

If you can find a set of 2007-2017 non cat "Heritage type" mufflers from the US states where the bikes did not have catalytic converters they will fit right up to your bike and VOILA no cat converters on that there Euro spec CVO deluxe ! I have the part # somewhere and will try to post them later

HARFXS1584

65842-07       this is the part# for your bike mate . 2 of the same. Fatboy type had 2 different part numbers from memory ( that may be wrong it was a LONG time ago FFsake !

Ask the sellers of stock take off mufflers in the US for the part numbers on the mufflers. Some US states did have catalytic converters on the 2007 and up bikes so be careful.

We in Australia got the same woeful mufflers in "Euro spec". That AND the "active air" noise dampening system on the air intake. Blame Paris France for that haha..

EVERYONE fuc**d them off right away of course. I used to buy them used in the US and fit them here for guys who got a "please explain" from the local Polizei
