Awesome pictures. It was really cloudy here in south east Wisconsin so didn't get to see anything.
Thanks

(http://) This was using welding goggles and the eclipes glasses with my phone. At the start of the eclipes, moon is at 1 o'clock position. Thought thought the color was cool.

Got to share this with my lovely wife, daughter, son in law and three grandsons. Very cool and something I would call once in a lifetime (at least in Coalfield... ;D ). I've got them in order of viewing and progression.

I experienced the eclipse in Orangeburg SC yesterday, about 100mi north from where I live. I drove and was the DD :bananarock: Yeah I know. Was hot and humid as expected experienced 100% totality, saw some old friends, met some new friends. :2vrolijk_21: Got some pics but Haird's are better, just being there was cool. Was a successful trip to and fro with just minor inconveniences on the back roads, glad I did it. :orange:
We had sun chips and moon pies for a snack.

Linda and I rode down about 40 miles from our home yesterday to get on the meridian line of most totality of the eclipse, Union MO. Where we stopped we got about 2 min 38 sec, only about 5 seconds short of the max.
This is of the start of the eclipse about half covered.
I was a little disappointed in the amount of total darkness, or lack there of. I was expecting a basement without a light on and I got darkness, but you could still see colors.
But it was a GREAT thing to witness in person.
I took these pictures with my little Panasonic Lumix bridge camera. I believe I was pushing the boundaries of the camera's capabilities though. I used a cardboard folded 49mm to 69mm slide over solar lens filter. I took video, but it's so slow in moving that it's almost worthless to watch.
Enjoy.

Great pictures, Dan. Thanks for posting.
We used a Canon Powershot SX730, 20.3 megapixel with a 40X optical zoom that we purchased prior to our recent Yellowstone vacation. It is one heck of a camera for a point and shoot, pocket type. I put one of the lenses from our "NASA" approved glasses over the camera lens which worked very well. I tried a couple shots using the same technique using my LG V10. While it normally is a great camera (for a phone), it was overwhelmed with all the sunlight..... :)
