Title: Daytime Odometer Brightness Level

My bike, a 2015 CVO Road Glide, has been in the shop most of this year with cooling and charging problems after a new engine was installed a year ago due to failed crank bearings at 18K miles. After all the repairs including a new voltage regulator, I can barely see my odometer/trip meter in the daytime now. Nighttime seems to be OK. Is there any adjustment on these lights for daytime brightness? All the other lights seem to be OK. Thanks for any info.

Unsure about your particular bike but had same problem with my ‘17 CVO Limited. Could not see anything in bright sunlight. There was a flash the dealer was able to do. Might ask dealer or call the mothership.

If there's more than one light bulb for those gauges, might be one of them inoperative.  Remaining bulb(s) might be enough for night.

Pretty sure it's a sealed unit with no bulb(s) to change.   :2vrolijk_21:

That's too bad.  Typical HD, though, makes you pay for way more than you need.  If it's under warranty, no problem; o/w, for $300+ I would take it apart and see if it can be replaced.

My volt meter was fluctuating, dealer connected to HD tech, they did a Beta reflash that changed the voltage going to the volt meter that smoothed it out. What they didn't know was that the Beta flash also changed the voltage going to the odometer/trip gauge illumination through the daytime sensor in the tachometer such that during daytime the odometer is so dim it can't be read. Now they're working on a reprogram to remedy that. During the daytime if you want to read the odometer/miles left on the fuel, cover the tach with your hand and the brightness level will come up so you can read it. That's all I know as of now.
