Title: 2018 Street Glide Lowers
Post by: PaulLavery on March 23, 2018, 03:17:12 PM
I've never had lowers with speakers fitted before & was just wondering if anyone knows if its straightforward to remove them ? Hopefully the speakers just plug into the harness for ease of removal ?

On my 2012 Street Glide CVO the speakers in the lower fairings  can be detatched quite easily from the wiring harness via the quick disconnect couplings that are factory installed.

The lowers are not hard to remove and you can buy a quick install kit if you are in the habit of removing and installing them on a regular basis.

I'm not sure why but the owners manual (page 88) says not to remove the lowers.

It is possible that page 88 refers to the touring bikes that have the water cooled radiators mounted in the lower fairings. I think your bike is oiled cooled? No radiators in the lowers.

Yeah the 18 SG has no radiators so your probably right or it's a carry over form 17 that was missed. I might play around with removing them during the summer. Nice to have now but I'm not a huge fan of the way they look.

Just wondering if you have removed the lowers yet and if so was it easy?
