Title: Exhaust Options
Post by: bpalmersheim on July 29, 2007, 09:25:59 PM
Hi all, looking to replace the SE 4" exhaust on my 2007 SERK.  I ran across the only other SERK in Louisville today and he had a pair of Hard Krome true duals (not sure what model)...  They had the same 4" mufflers that I have come to love, same as the stock pipes.  They also had 220 degree one peice heat shields that looked awesome.  The sound was nice as well.

I have read a lot of info on another board about Hard Krome and their lack of Customer Service and warranty support, which is leaving me to look for another solution.

I have looked at V&H, Rinehart's, etc...

What I am looking for is a true dual with 4" mufflers like OEM.  I would prefer 220 degree heat sheilds that are one-peice so you don't see any "blue" or heatsheild sections.

Anyone know if there is something out there I am missing?

Please post pics if you have any.

Thanks!

Well after some more research, it looks as if Rinehart is a top-notch company and very well may be my choice...  The retail price is $899.....  The discount price for a set of true duals is around $740.

Is there a better price?

I have a complete Magnaflow exhaust on my Jeep SRT8 and it was close in price, I can't beleive an exhaust system on a HD would be that expensive...

If the word "Harley-Davidson/H-D" is in any part of the sentence it will cost more. :( Look how much a v-twin engine costs. You would be able to buy several engines for a car at the price you pay for one v-twin.

Try M&M Cycles in Sandusky, Ohio. Very nice people to work with and their prices are competitive. Tell them what other prices you have found. Are you keeping your OEM mufflers? I am interested in them.

Eastern Performance has been cheaper on all brands than anywhere else I've found, and free shipping to boot.

Here are pics of the SERK with the new Vance and Hines Dresser Duals and Oval mufflers put on today. Also, I added a fuelpak to fix the lean fuel problem...hopefully this will be enough to help with the heat... :2vrolijk_21:
