Biketronics also makes excellent speakers and amps. And most of their stuff is made in North America too.Iwould rather have sirius ...how do i get it....
Also, you may be a bit dissapointed with XM. There many who claim that SIRIUS Satellite is superior. Just a thought.............. :)
I have Sirus in my car love it....

Subscribe to XM and you have all the sirius channels......they're both the same now. Have been for awhile. :2vrolijk_21:
I have stock speakers and the Hog Pods and they work great even at 80 mph! :2vrolijk_21: The wife got the Hog Pods first and once I heard the difference, I had to get mine on, too.
By the way, the 105 in the lower left gauge is the oil temp. The t120F that you see just below the speedometer is the head temp. :2vrolijk_21:
There you go-----advertising those damn Dakota's again!!!! They do look really good though :2vrolijk_21:

Don't have a picture of a stock speaker, but here's what a great speaker looks like. A stock magnet is 1.5-2" at best.
The same lead as your EFI
Where did you tap in to get the head Temp?? Is it a stock sensor??

This is a new feature with the Dakota Digital guages. The head temp is read from the serial data bus. The bike has a head temp sensor on the front cylinder head.
Those continue to look almost too tempting. The blue gauges on JC's blue bike is an outstanding combination Jim. Just how plug and play aren't they? How much new or extra needs to be wired to exercise all the functions of the instruments?
The only wiring to be done is for the oil temp guage. If you have one already then you can use the existing wiring but the sensor and the connector will need to be changed. The rest is truly plug and play. There is an additional harness to interconnect all of the guages, all plug-in. The added harness is a small guage 2 conductor cable that is for the dimming feature (there is a photocell in the face of the tach) and programming of the guages. Each guage has warning points that can be set. When you hit the set point the guage flashes.
I put a Hawg wired amp and speakers in and it sounds awesome.
I'm doing the XM module over the winter as well.
mjb 765,
Which Hawg-Wired amp and speaker did you go with? Does the red/orange color of the speaker show through? What speaker covers do you have? Geeze, I didn't mean to bombard you with questions it just happen :)
The amp is the PSC-1502 and the speakers were the older versions of the DX504-70 with stock speaker covers. They were on my 06 SG which was sold recently, but I don't recall really noticing the red speaker through the cover. I will be adding the amp which I removed from the old bike and ordering another set of DX504's to my new SESG asap. Hope this helps.....

JC is killin me with these dam gauges what are they going to cost me?
They are $1200 on the Dakota Digital website, getting them from Jim (HD Dude) gets you 10% off.
Hey, that's $120 for more mods! We're needing all we can get. :2vrolijk_21: I just sent Jim another list yesterday. He's taking a week off.....then Terries bike goes in (parts are back from the painter). And of course......now she's gotta have the Dakota Digital gauges in red. Then my bike goes back in for some more mods. :pepper:

Up here we need to do something during the snow....riding just isn't it :(
Great time to go Riding in Florida and the Keys:2vrolijk_21:

Sorry, but digital is a step backwards for guages....looks like something missing.

At first it was nothing.....then idiot lights.....then analog.....and now digital. Digital is also much more accurate than analog (like analog was to idiot lights.....light years advanced). :2vrolijk_21:Some of us like the 'visual' of the analog gauge...one reason I've never gone to a digital watch. Just love seeing the hands/dials move and point out to the numbers. :) har! spyder
But I realize that we all have different standards, expectations and preferences and that's what keeps it all interesting.

Back on topic.....we (wife and I) ride with stock speakers however, we've added the Hog Pod dash mounted tweeters and are very happy with what we have.
I think I'm pretty much sold on the Hog Pods I really like how they look on your 2 bikes. The black they come in is it the Vivid Black of the fairing?:huepfenlol2: har. spyder
As far as the gauges I think I'll be going that way too.
I'm with Spyder in that I enjoy the Analog in my street rods and didn't mind it on my Softails I even like the CVO gauges too. :2vrolijk_21:
I think the Digital modernizes the Street Glide and I like the added the head temp reading and oil temp.
I mean it's not like I'm adding Passing lamps or something crazy :nixweiss:
