Title: Harley Zumo Mount
Post by: Hawg on April 03, 2010, 09:14:46 AM
What is your opinion on the 92378-09 Harley Zumo handle bar mount kit, seems very expensive for something as simple as a piece of bent metal am I missing something?

In addition to the bent piece of metal is the swivel ball mount assembly, the earphone and cable extension, and a few other pieces.  Buy it at 20% and its less painful.
One thing, the Zumo 660 on the handlebar mount completely blocks the fuel gauge.  I swapped the air temp gauge with the fuel gauge.  Very easy.

I bit the bullet and bought one for my 550, out of all the others I saw, it works the best for me....

I was disappointed that the price I had to pay the bent piece of metal wasn't chromed.  :-[

If you were to ever trade up to the new Black SEUC, then the mount will match... :P

I was not happy at 1st with it either sent it to the chrome shop and made it look better. The way I have mine adjusted I can still see the fuel but like the idea of swapping with air temp gauge.

do you have a pic of it mounted? I just received my mount yesterday and am thinking the same thing needs to be chrome just won't look right mounted on the bike black. If you don't mind how much to chrome the bracket and mounting hardware?

Sorry about the quality.

Mine cost $50 Canadian to chrome, I can see all the gauges well.

Thanks for the pic Murphy, were they able to chrome the spacers as well and would you have any other pics?
Thanks

I forgot about the spacers when I did the mount... I don't see why they couldn't though.

Probably a lot cheaper just to by some chrome ones.

I found all OEM and aftermarket Zumo-installs to be more or less uninspired.

So a friend handcrafted this mounting:

not a big deal actually but does the job perfectly. Any plumber can do this for you either in chrome or black.

Nice job! You aught to see about making them for the members. What do ya think you would have to charge ($ U.S.) ?

Not really - you would end up with something over 200 $ thanks to freight and customs. And it's really just some chrome-pipe with a couple of holes to be drilled, as I said any plumber can do it for you.

No need to import from pricey Germany  ;)
