Has anyone out there received a recall notice from HD on the serk oil cooler on the 103 engine? [smiley=nixweiss.gif] I been hearing stories of oil lines coming loose, worn and abraded lines. I serached the HD service bulletins and found bulletin M-1144/Safety Recall 0109 dated 12/5/03 that details a recall on "add-on" oil cooler kits for the touring models. I have yet to get a recall notice from HD. Suppose they are waiting for me to slip on my own oil slick??? [smiley=confused5.gif]

Havn't heard anything yet! Let us know.... [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Haven't heard about any recall yet, but I did have the problem with the loose oil lines. If I recall, it happened to me when I had about 2-3000 miles on it. While on the road, I replaced the factory clamps with some checker auto clamps (about $1.50) and have never had a problem since... I'm going on 17,000 miles now. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

same on my 03 serk, changed to hose clamps last week-end at 15000 km. till i get to dealer next week.

Curious as to where the loose lines are. Is this a possible cause for concern on the 04 SE Electraglides as well since they have the coolers? Would like to check mine where the problems were you described.
Thanks

My '03 SERK had oil drool at the connection of the rubber oil lines to the oil cooler at the front of the engine. The fins of the oil cooler were full of oil and dirt.
Did the fix with the automotive hose clamps. Looks like sh#@, but stopped the leaks.

Awww cmon now, they don't look that bad [smiley=nixweiss.gif]. Besides, They work a hell of alot better that thos p.o.s. factory clamps that have to be broken off everytime you need to replace or remove a hose. Just about every oil hose with those clamps on my bike have begun to come loose. I've since replaced the ones on the chrome/rubber oil line (still haven't figured that one out. why they could'nt have put all chrome is beyond me) [smiley=nixweiss.gif].

I actually left the orginal clamps in place and just doubled up with the other automotive screw type. Kind of a belt and suspenders mentality. I have since purchased braided lines with chrome ends but haven't gotten them installed yet.
Seems like HD missed a few things from the P&A catalog. Those rubber oil lines just don't get it.
