Active duty military...we don't wait...we do.

Didn't do any deep homework.  Just a quick bit of mental addition.  If that's a turnkey job you're not getting robbed.  Go forward and be happy.

If you're military, you've obviously heard of the phrase, 'Hurry up and wait.'  We all have.   But $2,100 for the parts and work you described is a good deal.  Triple that if you're stationed in Germany.

Be patient. Be prepared. Sh!t seems to always happen on Harley builds.
Price sounds good with ported heads.

Try getting deployed. Bought my SERG at Bagram, had it delivered to AL, picked it up while on R&R.  Rode it 2 weeks. Now I'm back here, and the dealer picked it up yesterday do upgrade the motor.  Won't see it til June, and maybe a week if I'm lucky.

I take it you've already done the exhaust and added a race tuner?
If that price includes a good Dyno tune, that price sounds very good.
T-Manns performance shop does a similar package for $1777 which does not include labor for teardown, reassembly, or dyno tune.

It's a fair price if in the hands of a competent wrench...  A great price if it includes a tune.  If it doesn't include a tune, you'll need that also.   :2vrolijk_21:

I think it is to cheap!!! That is a lot of work, I bet the builder will ask for more $$ before you pick up the bike.   Remember, you will have to change the oil 50 miles after the bike starts, and them again in 1000 miles. At which point you can switch back to synthetic. That will cost about $120.00  Did he work that in to the price?  Just sounds to cheap to me. Cheers.

The math does not add up unless the labor is free

SCHWEEEET!,,,good to hear it sounds like an awesome deal.

He has been building motors for years...he doesn't do anything else but build motors....no tires, no transmissions...just engines...mostly race engines.

He worked at Klein Racing as an engine builder,...he kinda knows his stuff...

He built this engine...1:36

i think you are missing a lot of info, a good tune alone is 500.00 bucks. i would be very leary. i am going thru similar build and my out the door price is not even close.
