Just my thoughts and hopes.
As an FLHRSE5 owner, i think this was the best year for the road king, i hope the Moco never duplicates it.
All the trama I've been through this year i actually got 190 miles on my road king which brings my total to 490 miles for the 2013 season.
The last 190 were some nervous miles but the ride comfort was actually better than on my 2013 street glide. I was more afraid of dropping the bike because of my messed up foot more than anything.
Also a quick note to those who prayed for me, please accept my deepest thank you. Your prayers and support have helped me threw 2 life threatening episodes from the accident.
I'm happy to still be here and i hope to repay the man who ran me over very soon.
enough rant, heres my King!

Glad you're doing well.

Salut l'ami,

Highjagger, what handlebars and windshield are running on that King?
It`s a V-team ape ( T 68 ) 1 1/4 diameter in 18" height stainless steel
http://www.v-team.de/produktinfo/edelstahllenker/apehanger/ (http://www.v-team.de/produktinfo/edelstahllenker/apehanger/)
and the stock windshield of the anniversary standard Road King 2013
and this combination is working very well with the modified Signature seat and my height .
-
Cvoroadking2013 whats that bars you have on and how did you fit the Clutch & Brake fluid holders how about extension cables please feedback as im interested
I ride the same bike and im in Singapore its 404 of 900
-
Bars are Wild1 16" apes.
I had the dealer do it all The bars are designed to handle the hydraulic clutch. I am not even sure what cables they used
-
Over 10k on mine now. Ride everyday, rain or shine.

Just scored a great deal on a 2002 Bushtec trailer that was used for one 700-mile round trip to Charleston, SC, that was painted Illusion Blue. It's not an exact match to the RK, but after a lot of cleaning and buffing it's a very good near-match!
Still waiting for the hitch... it will be used to haul our tandem bicycle & cycling gear to events, so we won't be exceeding the RK's total GVWR.
That is a beautiful combination.
Had to check the garage to make sure you didn't have my Quantum.
Looks great.
When you getting the hitch?

Just picked her up today after much deliberation over the engine mods that the first owner did (see Black CVO Engine thread) but in the end I really like the overall look and this thing is spooky fast! Hopefully I will keep her for a long time and the engine issue will not impact the re-sale value too much. In the meantime I intend to enjoy the $hit out of her. Maybe I'll see some of you out there if you are ever in St. Louis!

WOW, those are some beautiful bikes there guys. Congrats King, the blue is truly stunning. We ALL understand what you endured and admire the fact you are back on the street.

Looks nice Evo. How tall are the apes?

one more.......
Just wondering. Did you have any problem with the title work seeing the vin numbers didn't match. I will assume since it was an in-state purchase, nothing happened unless there was disclosure. I think your biggest hurdle would come when someone tries to title in another state. Nice bike bro!

That was my main concern but it had a clean MO title and here they go by the VIN on the frame, not the engine. I felt better knowing all the work was done by the HD dealer where the bike was originally purchased. Hopefully I can get thru the registration process without much hassle (no more than usual anyway!)
Could become an issue if I ever sell it to someone in a different state.

Hey mine looks just like yours !!! But I am sorry the 110 SUCKS in comparison to my 2012 Street Glide 103 built, pistons . bigger cams ! Not even the same power NO WAY !!!! So I just completed bumping up my 110 to the same thing as my 103 . Only have 10 miles on the bump up but 1100 on the CVO. Good Luck

not what this thread is about or what it was started for.

Supposed to be for submitting one or more pics of your 2013 CVO SERK. People can get ideas from what others have done in modding theirs, etc.
-
T-Roy, what kind of lights did you end up using? I was thinking of Boogie Lights or Kuryakyn's, but didn't know if there was something better out there. Admittedly, I haven't done much research on it yet.
Thanks,
Tru
-
Hi Tru I wound up having them installed while I was at the Lonestar Rally in Galveston. Normally I would have done this myself but I think the beer in Galveston had a strange effect of making it easier to spend money :o Anyway the name of the company was fastlights and the name of the product is Chameleon. They have a remote and you can change to a bunch of different colors and brightness and effects and such. After the fact I found out that fastlights has a website and you can purchase the kits and install them yourself :orange:
-
Thanks, T-Roy, I'll have to check 'em out.

I do not think he is talking about the lowers with the speakers in them. Orange plastic pieces on fork legs would be the factory reflectors, which were removed the day I got my bike, as with all my bikes.
-
Ooops... My Bad. You are correct. I should have read more carefully.
Guess I'm still overly sensitive when it comes to the purist camp's critique of the '13 Road King CVO's lowers & stereo system.
Peace and joy, Merry Christmas to all.
I love the speaker lowers, FXD!!! Thats the main reason I have a '13. My opinon is they blew it on the '14's. Don't know if they used customer feedback or not, if they did it would be a 1st.
-
My humble opinion (not that is really wort much to anone but myself) is the '13 is much nicer than the '14 also. I am so very glad that I bought mine when I did. I can kind of understand it when the purists say it had too much to be a pure road king. But my argument is it is NOT a road king. IT IS a CVO ROAD KING and therefore is supposed to be different with much more bells, whistles, and LOVELY CHROME. Heck if you like black that was available also on the '13 anniversary model. Iguess i crawled up on the :soapbox: ;D

Posted this in a different thread. Wanted to make sure all SERK drivers saw it.
Was gonna get Joe to paint me one, couldn't find a doner & couldn't wait any longer. Set up for solo in the pic, but got both racks. 4 bolts & 5 mins and its 2-up. Only drawback is no lights, haven't figured out a super clean way to make a detach harness. Rainy/cold day project # 319

I agree 110%. I bought it because it had all the bells and whistles.
Not only did they blow it speaker wise on the 14s but the new rear lights leave a lot to be desired
and the passenger back rest is no longer included.
The value is of the cvo is lost, the cost reduction is not enough to give up the extras.

Nice looking TP! What kind is it and where did you get it painted at? Also how much did it set you back?
-
The tour pak is a Swinebox. Joe with Xtreme Dimension did the painting and he is a member here. You can see some more of his work in a thread titled custom paint under vendor discounts. Joe is an awesome painter and great to work with. As far as cost with the cost of the box, painting, shipping, backrest, and mount it is a couple of hundred less than buying a color matched one from a Harley dealership. I bought the Swimebox on EBay for about 600 with free shipping and had it shipped directly to Joe. Joe's number is 856-740-5020. Tell him T-Roy said hi.
-
Told by a friend that all SERK's don't have one of these. You kiddin me, right?

Thanks man.
To be honest I don't think it does work better, unless you are shorter than 5'7. It does keep the wind off of your chest, but lots of head buffering. It more for looks. I will use it more this summer anyways since its going to be hot, but for cold weather I would not recommend it. Hope this helps.

I've had mine about a month. Mods so far include new standard 20" dark tint windshield, moved the floor boards out 3/4", Custom Dynamics Dynamic Ringz LED Turn Signals, Arlen Ness 10" Modular Apes, Kuryakyn Horn Cover, Auxiliary Spot Lights/moved signals, Drag Specialties seat with Driver backrest. Runs really well. Its as easy if not easier to ride than stock. Throttle response is very crisp, and its only pinged on me twice now, on a really hot day, getting on it really hard. Its a blast to ride.
