Gaterman Lifters

Ant one here know anything about Gaterman lifters? I checked out their website and it seems they are made specifically for HD engines. Just wondering if there is any real life info on these lifters.

They are of good design, but made overseas, and some have experienced frosting of the rollers. I ran a set in a 113" for 12,000 miles and have sold the bike. Far as I know they're still in the motor. Now the Harley "B" lifter I ran in the same motor for 25,000+ look great. Should have left them in.

Gatormans are a great design, but not so great lifters.  They lasted about 10,000 miles before they cost me a motor in my Road Glide.

What happened?

What happened?

Needle bearing in the roller failed and caused the roller to sieze taking out the cam lobe sending glittery chit through the motor.  One of the remaining three lifters was definitely in its way out as well and the roller on that one was frosting badly to the point of marking up the cam lobe.  And to think that I replaced my crappy C-lifters with them to try and avoid potential problems.

Which version was the issues with? There is the one that are identical to the old Harley "B"'s (that I use), then there is the Gaterman designed one.

Other than the name not familiar with the brand. So there are two different under the same brand name? How are the two distinguished from one another?

We locked on to S&S lifters here quite some time ago, as we are NOT going to use our clients bikes, as a beta-testing platform.
NEVER had an issue to date with them.

For sure have not heard of any problems with S&S, even with aggressive cams. Why I put them in my 2014 CVO RK.

We've been using them, and for good reason now, for plus/minus 20 years, back in the Evo days.
Built so many 113" S&S single-cam engine's I can't remember.
With an S&S D carb multiple Thunderjets/Thunderheader/Wood 9F/our heads...........130/140. :)

Thanks for the info guys. I know the S&S lifters are good, was just curious as to any experience with the Gaterman lifters. Kinda planning ahead.
