Brake pads
« on: September 22, 2015, 08:19:29 PM »

Ready for front brake pads, are the OE replacements as good as the after market options? If not recommendations welcome. Don't want anything that makes noise. Thanks

Check out the Lyndall Z (Red) pads if using stock rotors.  Better pad with less of that nasty stick break dust.

Lyndall - No dust, No squeaks and the best customer service anywhere. I replaced all three sets at 121 miles.

Brake pads

EBC "HH" sintered semi-metallic are the only pads I'll buy for my bikes.
Quiet, dustless (OK, as dust free as possible). No chatter, long life, way better stopping over stock in my opinion. THE brake pad for "aggressive" riders.
RevZilla; J&P, many others.

My 2015 RGU front brakes have developed a bad squeak with only 6000 miles on them.  I may change them out just to get rid of the squeak.  I suspect I contributed to this because I use the front brake more than on prior bikes because the rear pedal is so hard to use for tall riders.  That will be remedied soon too!

The RGU brakes are "linked" so you should be using the proper amount of front / rear brake regardless of whether you're pulling the front or stepping on the rear brake.

From what I've read the linking is only active above a specific speed.  I plan on doing some slow speed course practice in the near future so need to get more used to only the rear pedal.

+1 as far as liking the stock brakes, 'guess I'm used to the feedback...

I am going to try the EZ Brake though...

EZ Brake is great, solves the problem with rear brake pedal hard to use for taller riders. You can get a discount through this Forum.
