Hurricane Heads vs MVA Heads?
« on: December 27, 2015, 09:42:47 PM »

Besides the obvious stuff listed on page 82 in the 2016 SE catalog, can anyone here explain to me the differences between the SE Hurricane heads and SE MVA heads and applications of each?  Or any experiences with either one?

Thank You,

The combustion chamber and exhaust port are the same as the MVA, large intake valves and a raised port. 95cc chamber I think. Best to speak with Sachs or HD Street Performance (Don) pretty sure they've handled a set.

The intake valve size on the Hurricane head is 2.175.  The intake valve size on the MVA head is 2.120.

This is a chart from the MOCO SE catalog...

Would you say the 2.120" valves on the MVAs are more appropriate for a stock compression 110 cu in, .616" lift cam, and 58 mm TB with intake opened up to 1.8"?

Thanks,

Hurricane heads also have a modified oval intake port. They're set up for a 4 bolt 64 mm throttle body, or a 62 mm cable throttle body as well.
Valve seat geometry is also different.

Neither head is a better performer than the stock 110 heads modified to the application.

The next best thing is to step up and have the cylinders bored and honed to do away with the sloppy fit from the factory.

AND add a little compression in the form of a 4-5CC dome

You know what I agree
A 124" S&S motor with 110 heads that flow 340 at 11.3:1 is a no PMS rocket ship and reliable.

I agree 100%. I have a custom 124 build with Mega-Flo 110 heads with the 640s @ a tic higher 11.4 it is a beast and I ride it everywhere. The dyno sheet is on here somewhere final tune 152/154 by 5800 rpm

Also agree.110 heads worked to the given build are pretty hard to beat.bigger isnt always better
