TC,
Thanks for the input,  I agree (and my wallet too) just cams and what ever else makes sense.  But I can't find specs on the Freedoms FCC14 (which pisses me off) the Zippers 575TC ( I have).  I searched for dyno sheets and haven't come up with much. I'm a moderate rider, love torque, but don't want to be choking out at 5000 rpm.  I'd love to see the Freedom spec's (is this one of those nondisclosures thing???).

Any input and help is appreciated.......
BTW,  The Hookers are staying and I'll let the dyno shop tune it this time........I guess I want to get what I can out of this thing (don't really think it ran that bad for a stock bike with a PC that I tuned in my garage and a AC and pipes).

I'm going to order the cams tomorrow (hopefully) if I can build a case to go one way or the other......the help is appreciated.

Beags...I have another Dyno I've seen...the Freedoms come in a bit later, but hold the tq into the 4K plus range....Zippers come in a bit earlier, but start falling off at about 3750.  Numbers are a wash with regards to peaks.

Bottom line...just my opinion...if you typically ride from 2500 to 4K, you'd probably like the Zippers more, if you ride in the 3k to 4500 range, the Freedoms might be a better choice.  With my shift points being 4500+ when I'm riding agressively, I think I'll be happier with the Freedoms.  Both are excellent.

Thank you all for the input.......since I ride like the older gentleman that I am,  I think the winner goes to the Freeddom cam  set.  Don't know what the end result will be,  but if I can keep up with Hank and B,  I'll be happy.

Thanks to all!!!!

You'll want the YB14SEC, If your not changing the pump and lifters be sure you put the Baisley Spring or Zippers shim in the cam plate to bump up the oil pressure.

Matt,
You won't be sorry with the Freedom set up, just loose those Hookers and get some real pipes  sore subject.
I still have the Zippers shim is you want it. I went with the Feuiling oil pump/lifters set up and a new cam plate so did n't use it. Soon to be a  :cherry: bomb in San Diego!

Later,
Joe

What effect has there been on gas mileage with the install of either the Freedom or Zipper cams.  Hate to do this and be the first one having to gas up during a ride.  Currently I get 37-38 on my stock 103 with a/c, Thunderheaders and riding 2 up.

Fuel economy is directly related to the amount of twist to the wrist, and when you put these cams in the wrist seems to twist more :nixweiss:

Seriously I did not notice any difference in economy on the hiway with normal riding.....

IROAR,
Having come from Connecticut where there are gas stops every 20 miles,  my old opinion was that if you have to worry about fuel economy, you shouldn't be riding a Harley.
But since moving to So. Cal. 20 years ago,  fuel economy is important from the stand point that anywhere you want to go....involves crossing 300 miles of desert,  and there are some routes where you need every drop to make it to the next station.  I wouldn't think that just a set of cams would make a big enough change to cause a problem.

I did have an old club brother that did a BIG mod job on his 95" bagger......ran like hell,  but he had to carry gas with him in one of the saddlebags (I think he was getting 21-23 mpg). You want to talk about a giant a$$ pain.

You nailed my concern.  Arizona countryside is at least as desolate as California.  Don't want to feel like my SE RK has a peanut tank .
