I am going to s&s 124 crank, timken bearings, s&s cylinder &pistons , tman 662-2 gear drive cam, 55 mm hpi throttlebody with 5.3 injectors. also getting love jugs and hillside stage 4 heads. I was wondering if i need upgraded cam plate and/or upgraded oil pump as well as compensator. Any suggstions appreciated

your OEM stuff will be fine,i would suggest a bandit clutch & SE compensator though

On the last bigger inch motor that I refreshed, I put in the S&S oil pump and cam plate (Blue One) and will tell you the oil pressure was consistent even in the hot summer months down here in Florida.   I was tired of seeing the oil gauge showing 1 hash mark or below on my oil gauge in traffic etc.   After installing the new pump/plate I never saw below 12 pounds and no higher than 34 pounds at WOT.   It is adjustable, but as set by S&S worked for me.

For me it was a big improvement and removed some worry.

S&S pump & plate are very nice pieces.though i got a OEM pump & plate in my 124",in florida with pressure amplifier i made,55+ pounds going down the road,no less that 25 at idle,hot.
