Nothing is locked out if you use voice commands.

Well, almost nothing, you can hear your text messages read to you, but cannot reply. You can enter addresses and POI's using the voice commands. I wear my headset even on short rides to communicate with Boom system.

Now, if HD would wake up and add the text message notification to the bottom of the GPS screen, they might have something going!!! You do not know if you have received a text message if you are using your navigation, that is so odd to me.
