2013 cvo breakout vs 2014 cvo breakout (V&H FP3)
« on: December 31, 2017, 10:36:14 AM »

I’m curious if anyone knows any major differences between the 2013 and 2014 cvo breakout I was interested in the V&H fuel pack 3. However I was told by V&H that the 2013 was not supported due to running an older firmware (j1850). Two questions

What other differences are there between the 2013 vs. 2014?

What tuner do you recommend for this bike?

My recently sold 2013 CVO Breakout was indeed an "orphan" in the tuning department having one year/one model software with regards to the ECM

The first owner had fitted an "1800 Pro Upgrade kit" and there were no Calibrations it it's Super Tuner pro software for the 259e cams and hi po pistons

The only upgrade calibration for a 2013 CVO Breakout was for a "Stage 1" or noisy pipes ! Bike ran smooth but as flat as a pancake at first !

Now for the 2014 CVO Breakout there were multiple options in the Cal file list for various builds , including the 1800 Pro Upgrade kit

A Dyno tuning shop in the east of Australia kindly sent me attached to an email a "Dyno" tune for a 2013 with the same 1800 Pro Upgrade kit.

That was for a bike with slip on mufflers , mine had Freedom Declaration True duals , but it woke the bike right up for sure !

For what it's worth , I've used all tuning devices.

For most folks the "Harley's own" Super Tuner pro works as well as any.

If you're a constant upgrader , cams etc etc TTS may be better , I used to use TTS exclusively until 2012

However , having said all that , in the US you can't now buy a Supertuner pro I do believe. ( or with difficulty !)

Here in Australia we can still buy them from the dealer at least for now
