Most of you know that MMA fighter and UFC heavyweight contender Brandon Vera is Andy's (AK on this site) son-in-law.  However, what may be more obscure is that Andy's daughter, Kerry Vera is a professional Kickboxer in her own right.

There's a new reality TV show that will be airing soon, that's similar to The Ultimate Fighter only this one is called Fight Girls and it's women, instead of men and it's Tai Fighting (Kickboxing).  Kerry is in Fight Girls.  We (Andy's family, me and my grandson) went to Vegas a couple weeks ago to watch Kerry fight and of course she won.  She and two other ladies who won their weight classes went on to Tailand to fight for the world championship. 

Kerry did real well!

Congratulations to Kerry and to Andy...........on the win!

The show begins on June 12th on the Oxygen channel.

He's got photos, as soon as he returns.  He called from Thailand yesterday, just as we'd stopped for gas during our ride up the coast..........so I was able to pass my phone around and let several of the members tell him "congrats" on his daughter.

Now that they're announcing it on T.V. I think it's o.k. to talk about and post photos, etc. so I'm sure he'll post as soon as he gets home.

Chip- My Bro,s may have jumped the gun. I can,t  post photos yet as they may get kerry in trouble( contract issuses) can,t show other girls who made the show or there photos, results etc....Hope I don,t come off as and old fart when they air the show, Brandon was real intent rooting for kerry can,t wait to see him let it all hang out.Had a great 10 days took tours, Kerry and brandon had cloths made at reasonable prices.

Both of my grandsons are in the Martial Arts. James is a Blackbelt and Thomas just got his green. Both make me proud as I'm sure you are of your daughter...Best to her and your entire family for allowing the kids to study in a art that will without any doubt help them in their future successes  ...Blaine

 Mushroomeater,,09s/e,Elvislee----Thanks for the comments ...Yes it,s fun stuff I,m in it for the vacations..Tomorrow 3am  I,m headed down to san diego   with a stop in Thousand oaks, CA.  Kerry is trying out for a new mma show "Ultimate Womens Fighting" 8 to 16 women from around the world are trying out for the show last weeks tryouts were in England...The US tryouts are at Bass Ruttons gym in thousands oaks.We,re hoping She gets Picked ...Her stand-up is strong and she,s been learning the ground game for about a year now since her last show....Andy
