I heard from a reliable source that we could be seeing larger gas tanks. An extra 40-50 mile range when going across some of the Western states would sure come in handy. I believe the touring Beemers and Hondas already have 6 gallon tanks.
The Beemer is 6.2 gallons.
Since the current Harley tanks seem to run right at 5.4-5.5 gallons
actual capacity when filled to the bottom of the filler neck, does this mean you'll get an additional 0.5 gallons? If so, not much of an improvement, maybe 15-20 miles. I'd rather see them figure out how to make these things return an honest 50
+ mpg at normal cruising speeds, and leave the tank capacity alone. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't ride 250 miles (50 mpg times 5 gallons) without stopping to: a.) restore blood flow to the ol' gluteus maximus, and b.) drain accumulated bodily fluids and replenish same.
