2008 110 issues
« on: July 23, 2007, 08:10:34 PM »

Well picked up the new scoot today and went to break it in.  10 miles later I was on the side of the road calling the shop.  The bike had lost all oil pressure.  They are going to tear it apart in the morning.  I think the oil pump broke or was bad from the start.  Will let you know what I find out.

Well so much for thinking the MOCO fixed the 07 110 issues.  :pepper:

I'm so sorry to hear that.  Un****ing believable.  Get a new motor. Not that there are any guarantees it will be good.

Mr MaGoo

Sorry to hear that.
There are people sitting out here waiting to find out if the 08's are any different from the 07's in term of reliability.

Again I'm sorry to hear yours has not been a shining example. :'(

I heard NEW motor.

That's what I would want to hear.  I'm sure the MoCo wants to see first hand what went wrong.

Tell them you'd appreciate the overnight of the new one.

Sorry you have to go through the problem.

Sorry to hear of your engine problem.  Thankfully you were aware of the loss of pressure and got stopped before the engine seized and you could have been hurt.  Totally unacceptable if they are still sending these bikes out the door with the same problems as the 07..  Good luck and let us know what the failure was and how it works out for you.

Almost think it would be better to have this one fixed here, rather than an unknown replacement.  Plus it would probably be quicker to have it fixed than wait for HD to serial# a new engine.  And I have'nt mentioned the paint issues.

Gawd can't even imagine how you felt after having put down that much $ on that new bike.  I am really sorry to hear you have to go thru this.  Makes me want to hold on to my bike forever now that it is been trouble free.  I hope your Dealer has his lips glued to your ass and throws in what it takes to make you happy.  What a crock.  I would want a face to face with the zone rep on that one, just to express exactly how I felt about that situation.

Paint issues on top of a broken motor?  I hope that they're giving you your 06 trade-in as a loaner.
