Here we go again... that sucks,, scary as hell too. Thanks for posting that info,,, let us know if you find out what happen. More then likely you will never find out. MoCo is keeping these problem issues under their hat and very strick what they are letting dealers do. They probaly dont want the word to get out what is going on.

The paint on the 08s is supposed to have gone back to Calibre.  Dave, sorry to read of so much trouble on a brand new scoot.  Perhaps the change back to Calibre was a bit rash?

Will explain the paint in the ultra thread.  Only salvation is the dealer is a freind and great to deal with.  They gave me my 06 back w/dealer plates and covered the insurance.  They will have it apart tomorrow to see what went wrong.

Good luck and hope the figure out what's going on. My '08 is due in 2 weeks and I don't need razzing from my metric riding buddies.

Well picked up the new scoot today and went to break it in.  10 miles later I was on the side of the road calling the shop.  The bike had lost all oil pressure.  They are going to tear it apart in the morning.  I think the oil pump broke or was bad from the start.  Will let you know what I find out.
I was hoping your new one would be ok. But believe me I feel your pain, I am still waiting a phone call to find out about mine. I am in Spokane until Friday so we will see what happens. Hope you get results fast.

Really, really sorry to hear of your problems on the new bike.  It is truely amazing to me that HD quality control allowed one of the very first CVO bikes to hit the road have these kinds of problems.

At least your dealer is taking care of you and gave your old bike back to you so you can ride.

I think I'll keep mine until they come out with a Revo based touring bike....

Was at the local dealer Saturday and the SM told me they had been there until 9PM the night before rebuilding the top end on an SEUC 110 that had come apart because of the rocker box clearance issue.  They took the entire top end off and replaced/repaired as needed.  The owner was headed to Canada the next morning. :nervous: :nervous:

It is the same engine.  Wouldn't expect a model year designation to make any difference.  If it had been "fixed" the issues wouldn't have stayed present in the latter 07s.  Model year changes aren't a cure for bad engine assemblies whose assembly methods and parts continue across the model year.

Almost think it would be better to have this one fixed here, rather than an unknown replacement.  Plus it would probably be quicker to have it fixed than wait for HD to serial# a new engine.  And I have'nt mentioned the paint issues.

I agree, have the oil pump repaired, if it is the only the pump and go forward. Of course document the incident and notify MOCO customer service to create a file.

I'd give it back to them, void the transaction and take the next one they get in.
Let them deal with the Moco rather than you.   If it's an oil pump that could be the symtom of a more serious problem.
Also maintain a record in the event you wish to invoke your state's Lemon law.

I looked into this recently (guess why)
As far as NH and MA, they have similare criteria, three attempts to fix or 15 days out of service.  you have to pay a big fee and let the dealer have one more attempt.  if not, the vehicle is depreciated based on its life which in MA is 25000 miles and in NH its 20000.  So after 5000 miles, you have lost 20-25% of the value which is not much different than trading it in whereby you can buy anything from anyone.  If you drive alot, this is insane.
