Rush Mufflers
« on: October 04, 2007, 12:39:59 PM »

I recently learned that this company has come out with a muffler that will mount to the Rinehart TD header pipes, for those interested in a different look, quieter sound, etc.  They of course also offer mufflers compatible with stock headpipes or any other stock diameter headpipes (V&H, Basanni, etc).

To my knowledge, this is the first company to offer a muffler that will fit on the RH TD headpipe.  If you get the "tipless" muffler, they have many options for nice looking end caps as well.  Baffles are available in 1/4" increments from 1 1/2" to 2 1/2".  Definitely worth a look if you consider the RH mufflers too loud, but like the look of the fat header pipe that RH gives.

If I'm not mistaken, rednectum (Dennis at Cripple Creek, Dothan, AL) is a dealer for these mufflers.

Here's a link to Rush's website, with sound bites for each baffle, nice pics of the various tips available, and different cut mufflers if you don't want the seperate tip.

Right on, Terry.  Dennis put a set of 2.25" Rush mufflers on Thumper.  Fit right up to my V&H headers.  They look and sound awesome.  I have the straight cut mufflers, but they also come in slash up and slash down as well as interchangable end caps.

V&H headpipes are 1-3/4" pipes, the same as stock. You would have used stock style Rush slip-ons Henry. The Rush mufflers for use with the RH headpipes would be 2" connections, I believe. You must be referring to the muffler size itself?

I think he's referring to the baffle size he got...

These muffs are supposed to provide more backpressure for lower end torque, from my understanding in conversations.
