203's didn't come in the 103's, the 253's came in the 103's.  I believe now they deliver with the 255's.

I was thinking as I was posting it that the cam was a 253, but I thought they referred to them as 203's. I recall when I bought my 03 SERK that the number didn't make sense. Guess I was wrong.

Thanks for settin the record straight

Brian,

The 203 is the cam that comes in the 95" upgrade kit.  Actually figured you were taking some meds and just confused the numbers so no biggie.

So he'd be able to use my cams for low-mid range torque increase. The 255's come standard in the 1690 stage II kit I understand. Keeping the original jugs and heads may not yield the stage II increase but I would think he'll gain a feelable difference. Agree?

I once had the 203's in a 00 RK with the 95" kit pulled like a freight train. Especially pulling a tent trailer.

Probably would have pulled easier if you'd folded the tent up before taking off  :huepfenlol2:

I had the 251 cam installed along with high compression pistons.  Dyno shows 103 hp and 112 ft lbs torque.  The bike really performs much better now....glad that I had this done when the bike was down for the new heads..etc.

Just curious you did mean the SE 10.5 to 1 pistons or aftermarket pistons? Did you use standard bore size or go .010 over?

Well gentlemen, all this cam talk has got me a little confused. So, let me get this straight, my 07 FLHTCUSE2 came with 255 cams. Ok, I'm bringing it in for the head "upgrade' and the other fixes mentioned in the nice letter (and book) HD sent us.

So, I want to get a littl more out of the beast now that hopefully the oil leak won't be an isssue (key word, HOPE). I'm thinking cam, better lifters, adjustable push rods, roller rockers, and a larger TB if needed. The 251 cam seems to make sense to me (being an old car guy) but I'd appreciate any advice anyone with HD motors (especially the SE 110), can give.

Welcome aboard ae! SE 251's will just bolt in with new pushrods. If you wanna do more work than cams as you say. You can look at others too. I'd talk to an engine builder about what to use. It's all about the combination of parts being used and not just each component separately. If you're doing headwork, compression, and the cool extras you wanna add, check my 110 build out. It should give you ideas. But talk to your builder is my best advice! ;)

My build starts here! http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=21375.msg342859#msg342859

I had a lifter/cam failure and will be using the S&S 625G cams instead of the ones in that thread. Don't think of using gear drive cams til you measure crank runout. Anything more than 0.003" you should stay with the chain drive. HD says up to 0.012" is OK! :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

Good luck with your mods, and enjoy this great site! :2vrolijk_21:

ae8850t,

Welcome aboard. If you are looking at mods remember you will definatly want to look into a tuning device such as a SERT or PC. Also A larger TB certainly will not hurt as the 07 has a 46mm stock. If you are looking at the 251 cams the general concensus is more compression than the stock 9.3 is a good idea.

I have an 07 ultra classic with a 110 upgrade and it was supposed to go in for the "head Upgrade" on Oct 6, but the recall parts have not shown up yet and as of yesterday I was told it would be at least another week before they got there. Anyway, while it is in there I am going with the 251 cams and a set of 10.5 pistons. I will be sure to put a post on here as soon as it is done to let everybody know how it turns out.
